【摘要】：隨著近年來“海外留學熱”的不斷升溫,留學申請者想要了解國外大學的需求也隨之增加。一些留學材料翻譯變得必不可少,其中包括大學宣傳手冊的翻譯和學生指南的翻譯。本報告的翻譯材料節(jié)選自《懷卡托理工學院國際學生指南》,是譯者在一家留學咨詢公司實習期間承擔的翻譯項目。該指南詳細介紹了懷卡托理工學院的校園環(huán)境、專業(yè)和課程設(shè)置,以及取得相關(guān)學歷和證書的要求。由于翻譯材料具有信息型文本和呼喚型文本的特點,因此應(yīng)當注重翻譯的明確和簡潔。遵循文本類型理論以及準確性和完整性的翻譯原則,譯者采用多種翻譯技巧處理原文中特殊的單詞和復(fù)雜的句子,如增譯、重構(gòu)、轉(zhuǎn)換等。翻譯結(jié)束之后,譯者將譯文交給公司,受到了公司領(lǐng)導(dǎo)的好評,同時也收獲了一些寶貴意見。譯者翻譯的最終目的是將原文本中的信息完整地傳達給目的語讀者,使他們獲得和原文讀者相同的閱讀體驗。
[Abstract]:With the growing fever of studying abroad in recent years, the demand of overseas students to know more about foreign universities has increased. Translation of some study materials is essential, including translation of university brochures and student guides. Excerpts from the Waikato Institute of Technology's International Student Guide are a translation project undertaken by the translator during an internship at a consulting firm. The guide details the campus environment, specialty and curriculum of Waikato Polytechnic, as well as requirements for obtaining relevant qualifications and certificates. Since translation materials have the characteristics of informational text and calling text, we should pay attention to the clarity and conciseness of translation. In accordance with the text type theory and the principles of accuracy and completeness, the translator adopts a variety of translation techniques to deal with special words and complex sentences in the original text, such as addition, reconstruction, conversion and so on. After the translation, the translator handed over the translation to the company, which received praise from the company leaders and some valuable opinions. The ultimate purpose of the translator's translation is to convey the information in the original text to the target readers so that they can gain the same reading experience as the original readers.
