英文學(xué)術(shù)論文中的言據(jù)性與作者身份構(gòu)建

【摘要】:語(yǔ)言的言據(jù)性作為一種重要的語(yǔ)言現(xiàn)象,反映了說(shuō)話者對(duì)知識(shí)的來(lái)源以及態(tài)度的說(shuō)明。國(guó)內(nèi)外對(duì)言據(jù)性的研究并不多見(jiàn),且研究范圍多局限于語(yǔ)義學(xué)領(lǐng)域,應(yīng)用語(yǔ)言學(xué)角度的研究更是少之又少。學(xué)術(shù)論文作為一種作者高度參與的社會(huì)化行為,其過(guò)程反映出作者通過(guò)與讀者的交互性交流以構(gòu)建身份。但國(guó)內(nèi)外關(guān)于作者身份構(gòu)建的研究大多集中于對(duì)第一人稱代詞的研究。因此,本文試圖將二者結(jié)合起來(lái)作一次跨學(xué)科探索。本文在已有的理論框架下,以言據(jù)性資源為出發(fā)點(diǎn),對(duì)比分析英文學(xué)術(shù)論文中中、外學(xué)者如何運(yùn)用言據(jù)性資源來(lái)構(gòu)建身份以及由此呈現(xiàn)出的異同。本研究是一項(xiàng)定量和定性相結(jié)合的實(shí)證研究,分為兩個(gè)階段。研究的第一階段:收集和描寫語(yǔ)料。采用隨機(jī)抽樣法,從應(yīng)用語(yǔ)言學(xué)核心期刊《第二語(yǔ)言寫作雜志》、《語(yǔ)用學(xué)雜志》和《專業(yè)英語(yǔ)》上共選取60篇英文學(xué)術(shù)論文(各期刊20篇,其中分別包括中、外學(xué)者所著論文各10篇)作為語(yǔ)料建立語(yǔ)料庫(kù)。以Chafe和胡壯麟所提出的言據(jù)性據(jù)素分類模式為理論框架,并根據(jù)本文對(duì)言據(jù)性資源的識(shí)解與分類對(duì)語(yǔ)料進(jìn)行統(tǒng)一標(biāo)識(shí)。然后通過(guò)Antconc和Log-Likelihood Calculator軟件對(duì)數(shù)據(jù)進(jìn)行統(tǒng)計(jì),討論言據(jù)性據(jù)素在中、外學(xué)者英文學(xué)術(shù)論文中的分布數(shù)量和頻率,以及探究它們之間的顯著性差異。研究的第二階段:結(jié)合文獻(xiàn)分析法,在第一階段的基礎(chǔ)上對(duì)統(tǒng)計(jì)結(jié)果進(jìn)行分析和說(shuō)明。通過(guò)探究,得出如下結(jié)論:(1)本文以對(duì)言據(jù)性廣義范疇的認(rèn)知為基礎(chǔ),發(fā)現(xiàn)英文學(xué)術(shù)論文中用于構(gòu)建作者身份的言據(jù)性資源普遍存在,主要體現(xiàn)為信念、推測(cè)、傳聞、信度和預(yù)期五類據(jù)素范疇。(2)五類據(jù)素的分布各有異同。中國(guó)作者所著的英文學(xué)術(shù)論文中,據(jù)素的總體使用頻數(shù)以及頻率較之于外國(guó)作者要低。但相同之處在于推測(cè)據(jù)素和傳聞?chuàng)氐氖褂妙l率均遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)大于信念、信度和預(yù)期據(jù)素的使用頻率,具有一致性。(3)英文學(xué)術(shù)論文中,作者身份主要體現(xiàn)在作者自我和語(yǔ)篇自我兩個(gè)層面上。中國(guó)作者注重語(yǔ)篇自我的構(gòu)建,而外國(guó)作者更加表露出對(duì)作者自我的重視。(4)作者身份通過(guò)言據(jù)性據(jù)素顯示出來(lái),言據(jù)性可以從作者的權(quán)威性以及可靠性方面幫助構(gòu)建作者身份。本研究涉及語(yǔ)義學(xué)、應(yīng)用語(yǔ)言學(xué)及統(tǒng)計(jì)科學(xué),屬于跨學(xué)科探索。文章對(duì)構(gòu)建作者身份的語(yǔ)言資源,即言據(jù)性的探討,較為全面地揭示了中、外學(xué)者學(xué)術(shù)寫作中文化差異所在。希望本文能夠?yàn)檠該?jù)性研究提供一個(gè)新的視角,同時(shí)也為學(xué)術(shù)寫作者形成構(gòu)建意識(shí)提供一定的借鑒意義。
[Abstract]:As an important linguistic phenomenon, the textual nature of language reflects the speaker's explanation of the source and attitude of knowledge. There are few researches on verbal substantiality at home and abroad, and the scope of research is limited to the field of semantics, and the study of applied linguistics is even less. As a highly social behavior, the author's process reflects the author's identity through interactive communication with the reader. However, most of the researches on the author's identity construction at home and abroad focus on the first-person pronouns. Therefore, this paper attempts to combine the two for a cross-disciplinary exploration. This paper, based on the existing theoretical framework, makes a comparative analysis of how foreign scholars use verbal resources to construct their identities and the similarities and differences they present in English academic papers. This study is a quantitative and qualitative empirical study, divided into two stages. The first stage of the study: collecting and describing corpus. By random sampling, a total of 60 English academic papers were selected from the core journals of Applied Linguistics, the Journal of second language Writing, the Journal of Pragmatics and Professional English. Each of 10 papers written by foreign scholars is used as a corpus to build a corpus. This paper takes the categorization model of declarative evidential primes proposed by Chafe and Hu Zhuanglin as the theoretical framework, and unifies the identification and classification of the corpus according to the interpretation and classification of evidential resources in this paper. Then the data are statistically analyzed by Antconc and Log-Likelihood Calculator software to discuss the distribution quantity and frequency in Chinese and foreign scholars' English academic papers and to explore the significant differences between them. The second stage of the study: combined with the literature analysis, the statistical results are analyzed and explained on the basis of the first stage. The conclusions are as follows: (1) on the basis of the cognition of the broad category of verbal nature, this paper finds that the verbal resources used to construct the author's identity in English academic papers are ubiquitous, mainly embodied in belief, speculation, hearsay, etc. Reliability and expectation. (2) there are similarities and differences in the distribution of five kinds of evidences. In the English academic papers written by Chinese authors, the overall frequency and frequency of use of elements is lower than that of foreign authors. But the similarity lies in the fact that the frequency of use of speculated and hearsay evidence is much higher than that of belief, and the reliability is consistent with that of expected evidence. (3) in English academic papers, The author's identity is mainly reflected in the author's self and discourse self. Chinese writers pay more attention to the construction of discourse self, while foreign authors show more importance to author self. (4) the identity of the author is revealed by textual evidence. Evidentiary nature can help to build an author's identity in terms of authoritativeness and reliability. This study, involving semantics, applied linguistics and statistical science, is a cross-disciplinary exploration. This paper probes into the linguistic resources for the construction of author's identity, I. e., verbality, and reveals the cultural differences between Chinese and foreign scholars in their academic writing. I hope this paper can provide a new perspective for the textual research, and also provide some reference significance for the academic writers to form the consciousness of construction.
