【摘要】:本論文是一篇翻譯實(shí)踐報告,翻譯文本選自英國暢銷書作家海倫·奧耶耶美(Helen Oyeyemi)的小說《博伊、雪諾和伯德》(Boy,Snow,Bird)第一部分的3-5章節(jié)。該小說反應(yīng)了淺膚色非裔美國人由"黑"變"白"的種族問題。主要講述了這樣一件事:1953年冬天,女主人公博伊為了尋求另一種生活,來到了位于馬薩諸塞州的一個小鎮(zhèn),嫁給了當(dāng)?shù)氐囊晃祸姺蚧萏芈⒊蔀榱怂呐畠貉┲Z的繼母。后來他倆的女兒伯德出生了,卻是一個皮膚黝黑的孩子。這件事曝露出惠特曼一家隱藏了三代的秘密,即他們是來自路易斯安那州的"黑轉(zhuǎn)白"的淺膚色非裔美國人的后裔。通過翻譯該文本第一部分的3-5章,筆者撰寫了此翻譯實(shí)踐報告。本篇翻譯實(shí)踐報告將簡單介紹一下此翻譯文本的作者及主要內(nèi)容,講述譯者對該文本的翻譯過程,分析在翻譯過程中譯者遇到的困難并且提出在翻譯過程中譯者采取何種翻譯策略來解決翻譯難點(diǎn)。在翻譯過程中,譯者遇到的翻譯難點(diǎn)主要有兩個層面,即詞匯層面和句法層面。詞匯層面的難點(diǎn)主要包括專有名詞和文化負(fù)載詞的翻譯,一詞多義現(xiàn)象以及詞性問題。在句法層面,譯者將主要分析狀語從句、定語從句、被動句和復(fù)雜句的翻譯。接著,譯者將會根據(jù)這些翻譯難點(diǎn)討論所采取的翻譯策略和翻譯方法并結(jié)合例子進(jìn)行分析。在詞匯層面,譯者主要采用音譯法和直譯法對專有名詞進(jìn)行翻譯。當(dāng)遇到具有多個意義的詞匯時,譯者會根據(jù)上下文挑選合適的意思。若漢語中沒有恰當(dāng)?shù)南鄬?yīng)的詞匯時,譯者還需要對詞匯意義進(jìn)行引申。有些詞具有多種詞性,因此在翻譯這類詞時,為了符合漢語的表達(dá)習(xí)慣,譯者通常需要轉(zhuǎn)換詞性。在此次翻譯實(shí)踐中,譯者還遇到了許多文化負(fù)載詞。由于文化差異,目標(biāo)語讀者可能會很難理解這些詞匯。因此,一般情況下,譯者會用加注釋的方法來解釋文化負(fù)載詞的內(nèi)涵意義。在句法層面,翻譯難點(diǎn)主要集中在狀語從句、定語從句、被動句和復(fù)雜句的翻譯。翻譯這些句子通常需要結(jié)合多種翻譯策略才能達(dá)到理想的翻譯效果。通過這次翻譯實(shí)踐,譯者了解到自己的翻譯能力還有待進(jìn)一步的提高,譯者急需豐富自己的知識儲備,開闊眼界并且提升寫作能力。
[Abstract]:This thesis is a translation practice report. The translated text is selected from 3-5 chapters of the first part of the novel "Bhoi, Snow and Bird" by British best-selling author Helen Oyeyemi. The novel reflects the race of light-skinned African-Americans from "black" to "white". In the winter of 1953, the heroine Bhoi went to a small town in Massachusetts to marry Whitman, a widower, and became the stepmother of his daughter Snow. Later, their daughter, Byrd, was born, but a dark-skinned child. The affair revealed the Whitman family's secret for three generations, that they are descended from "black-to-white" light-skinned African-Americans from Louisiana. Through the translation of the first part of the 3-5 chapters, the author wrote this translation practice report. This translation practice report will briefly introduce the author and main contents of the translated text, and describe the translator's translation process of the translated text. This paper analyzes the difficulties encountered by the translator in the process of translation and puts forward the translation strategies adopted by the translator in the process of translation to solve the translation difficulties. In the process of translation, there are two levels of translation difficulties encountered by translators: lexical level and syntactic level. Lexical difficulties include translation of proper nouns and culture-loaded words, polysemy and part of speech. At the syntactic level, the translator will analyze the translation of adverbial clauses, attributive clauses, passive sentences and complex sentences. Then, the translator will discuss the translation strategies and methods adopted according to these translation difficulties and analyze them with examples. At lexical level, translators mainly use transliteration and literal translation to translate proper nouns. When a word with multiple meanings is encountered, the translator selects the appropriate meaning according to the context. If there is no proper corresponding vocabulary in Chinese, the translator also needs to extend the lexical meaning. Some words have a variety of parts of speech, so in translating such words, translators usually need to change parts of speech in order to conform to the Chinese expression habits. In this translation practice, the translator also encountered many culture-loaded words. Due to cultural differences, it may be difficult for target readers to understand these words. Therefore, in general, translators use annotated methods to explain the connotative meaning of culture-loaded words. At the syntactic level, translation difficulties mainly focus on the translation of adverbial clauses, attributive clauses, passive sentences and complex sentences. Translation of these sentences usually requires a combination of a variety of translation strategies in order to achieve the desired translation effect. Through this translation practice, the translator realizes that his translation ability still needs to be further improved, and the translator urgently needs to enrich his knowledge reserve, broaden his horizons and improve his writing ability.
