【摘要】：美國駐華外交官柔克義是理解宗教與外交復(fù)雜關(guān)系的典型范例。一方面,與宗教相關(guān)的學(xué)術(shù)研究,不僅促其來華擔(dān)任美國駐華外交官,影響其與宗教團(tuán)體關(guān)系,甚至左右其外交職位的升遷降黜;另一方面,宗教問題是其處理對華外交的重要手段和利益訴求,在處理美國涉藏政策、抵制美貨運動、美在華條約權(quán)力等問題中發(fā)揮重要影響。其中,宗教與外交間相互交集,亦碰撞摩擦,而外交人員對宗教的學(xué)養(yǎng)和認(rèn)知,很大程度上影響著當(dāng)局運用宗教因素處理外交事務(wù)的水平。
[Abstract]:The American diplomat in China, Robert Zoe, is a typical example of the complex relationship between religion and diplomacy. On the one hand, the academic studies related to religion not only urge him to come to China as a diplomat in China, but also influence his relations with religious groups, and even influence the promotion and dethrone of his diplomatic position. On the other hand, the religious issue is an important means and interest demand for its diplomacy with China, and plays an important role in dealing with the American policy concerning Tibet, the movement against American goods, and the right of the United States to treaties in China. Among them, religion and diplomacy intersect and collide with each other, and diplomatic personnel's education and cognition of religion greatly influence the level of using religious factors to deal with foreign affairs.
