[Abstract]:The two letters are the first round of a book about monotheism that Chinese philosopher Zhao Tingyang and French anthropologist Le Bixiong are working on. The book uses a cross-cultural debate to discuss the European thinking format shaped by monotheistic traditions and its impact on modernity. The form of monotheistic thinking can be said to be the most common and fixed way of thinking in Europe. Although Christianity has gradually declined in Europe today, the form of monotheistic thinking is still a strong mainstream. It dominates the way things are understood, values, and goals pursued in the West. The first round is only the beginning of this thematic discussion. It mainly discusses some preparatory arguments and methods, especially the difficulties encountered in cross-cultural dialogue, and analyzes the limitations and problems of intersubjectivity. It is put forward that cross-subjectivity can be a method to solve the problem of inter-subjectivity. Taking Matteo Ricci as an example, the paper discusses the insuperable gap between the pursuit of monotheism and the acceptance of polytheism, which shows a profound difficulty in cultural dialogue, that is, although transsubjectivity can be an effective solution, The problem is that under the condition of monotheism, it is difficult to complete the construction of cross-subjectivity, or to find an effective way to construct subjectivity.
