【摘要】:正一、引言清末之時,國家內(nèi)外交困,朝廷昏庸腐朽積重難返,佛教也陷入了前所未有的衰敗困頓之中。鴉片戰(zhàn)爭以后,國門洞開。一些佛教界精英人士,由于因緣際會得以走出國門,參與國際文化交流。以楊仁山居士為代表,積極開展佛教民間外交活動,致力于構(gòu)筑世界佛教事業(yè),革新佛教;給國內(nèi)佛教的發(fā)展帶來了一線生機(jī),同時也將近代中國佛教推向了世界舞臺,期冀中國佛教能夠與社會改革的現(xiàn)實事業(yè)緊密聯(lián)系在一起,肩負(fù)起振興中華的歷史重任。[1]

With Yang Renshan as a representative, he actively carried out Buddhist folk diplomacy activities, devoted himself to the construction of the world Buddhist cause, innovated Buddhism, brought a vital force to the development of Buddhism in China, and at the same time pushed modern Chinese Buddhism to the world stage. It is hoped that Chinese Buddhism will be closely linked to the realistic cause of social reform and shoulder the historical responsibility of rejuvenating China. [1]
