【摘要】：正一、引言清末之時,國家內(nèi)外交困,朝廷昏庸腐朽積重難返,佛教也陷入了前所未有的衰敗困頓之中。鴉片戰(zhàn)爭以后,國門洞開。一些佛教界精英人士,由于因緣際會得以走出國門,參與國際文化交流。以楊仁山居士為代表,積極開展佛教民間外交活動,致力于構(gòu)筑世界佛教事業(yè),革新佛教;給國內(nèi)佛教的發(fā)展帶來了一線生機(jī),同時也將近代中國佛教推向了世界舞臺,期冀中國佛教能夠與社會改革的現(xiàn)實事業(yè)緊密聯(lián)系在一起,肩負(fù)起振興中華的歷史重任。[1]
