【摘要】：正在古代的神話、傳說和一般的敘事中,出現(xiàn)過太陽照不到的黑暗地方。這種地方,要么在北方,要么在西方。《山海經(jīng)·海外北經(jīng)》:"鐘山之神,名曰燭陰。視為晝,瞑為夜,吹為冬,呼為夏。不飲,不食,不息,息為風。身長千里,在無月之東。其為物,人面蛇身,赤色,居鐘山下。"《山海經(jīng)·大荒北經(jīng)》:"西北海之外,赤水之北,有章尾山。有神,人面蛇身而赤,直目正乘,其瞑乃晦,其視乃明,不食,不寢,不息,風雨是謁。是燭九陰,是謂燭龍。"在這兩處的燭龍神話中,燭龍身處的鐘山(章尾山),制造晝夜的九陰之地,必定原本是永夜無晝之地,也就是太陽照不到的黑暗地方,《楚辭·天問》"日安不到,燭龍何照?"《淮南子·地形》"燭龍在雁門北,蔽于委羽
