【摘要】：17世紀(jì)50年代的英國共和主義思想家是英國自由帝國觀念的最早闡述者。他們深受馬基雅維利的共和主義思想的影響,贊成擴(kuò)張性的共和國,積極支持當(dāng)時英格蘭共和國的海外擴(kuò)張。他們還從清教主義出發(fā),將共和國的擴(kuò)張視為一種道德使命,希望通過擴(kuò)張建立世界帝國、傳播自由。他們在英國海外擴(kuò)張尚處起步階段之時進(jìn)行了理論建構(gòu),論證了其必要性、合理性與合法性。他們所構(gòu)想的融合了古典共和主義傳統(tǒng)與清教救世主義情結(jié)的自由帝國理想,成為了日后英國自由帝國思想發(fā)展的基石。
[Abstract]:The British Republican thinker in the 1750 s was the earliest explainer of the British concept of the free empire. Deeply influenced by Machiavelli's republicanism, they were in favor of the expansionary republic and actively supported the overseas expansion of the then England Republic. They also regarded the expansion of the Republic as a moral mission from Puritanism, hoping to build a world empire and spread freedom through expansion. When the British overseas expansion was still in its infancy, they constructed the theory and demonstrated its necessity, rationality and legitimacy. Their ideal of free empire, which combined the tradition of classical republicanism and the Puritan savior complex, became the cornerstone of the thought development of British free empire in the future.
