[Abstract]:"Chinese lyric modernity" is another important academic category put forward by Wang Dewei after "modernity in the late Qing Dynasty". On the one hand, its proposition and consciousness of problems come directly from Pushick and Xia Zhiqing. The tradition of modern Chinese literature in North America represented by Li Ou-fan and others, on the other hand, draws lessons from Chen Shixiang. In the middle of 20th century, Gao Yougong and others began thinking about the "lyrical tradition" of ancient China in the study of Chinese classical literature in North America and Taiwan, China. Wang Dewei tried to graft the two into one.
