空間頻率與視野位置在面孔識別中的作用

【摘要】:面孔在人們的生活中發(fā)揮著重要的社會功能,個體通過對面孔刺激的加工可以提取到各種社會信息,如年齡、性別、種族、表情等。White將面孔信息區(qū)分為構(gòu)型信息與特征信息來解釋身份表情信息之間的分離:身份識別依靠的多是構(gòu)型信息,而表情識別更多的依靠特征信息。但是這樣的劃分存在局限性。目前支持身份與表情雙分離的尺度并不多。 以往的研究顯示,高頻空間信息傾向于對細節(jié)部分的表征,如表情紋、鼻子的輪廓、眼睛、嘴巴。低頻空間信息不具備單獨的表征某個器官的分辨率,但是可以為面孔的探測提供信息。因為對高頻信息敏感的視錐細胞主要集中在視網(wǎng)膜中央窩,對低頻信息敏感的視桿細胞主要集中在視網(wǎng)膜外周,因此空間頻率和視野位置在面孔識別中可能存在著交互作用,空間頻率可能是支持面孔表情加工與身份加工是分離的指標之一。 本研究通過事件相關電位技術,選取N170作為主要的觀測指標,分別從面孔的表情識別和身份識別上考察了空間頻率和視野位置對面孔識別的作用。實驗被試為來自河北大學的20名本科生及研究生。實驗一要求被試對隨機出現(xiàn)在視野中央或外周的高低頻面孔表情進行判斷,高興按鼠標左鍵,憤怒按鼠標右鍵;實驗二中要求被試判斷面孔的身份,左鍵代表名人,右鍵代表非名人。實驗過程中記錄被試的行為數(shù)據(jù)和腦電數(shù)據(jù)。 實驗結(jié)果顯示: 1.在實驗一中,空間頻率與視野位置存在交互作用。高頻面孔在視野中央誘發(fā)的N170潛伏期比低頻面孔短,波幅小于低頻面孔;在視野外周時潛伏期長,波幅與低頻面孔差異不顯著。 2.在實驗二中,,空間頻率與視野位置交互作用不顯著。高頻面孔在視野中央誘發(fā)的N170潛伏期比低頻面孔長,波幅大于低頻面孔。高頻面孔在視野外周時潛伏期較短,波幅差異不顯著。 3.高頻信息對面孔的表情識別作用優(yōu)于低頻信息;面孔的身份識別主要依賴于面孔圖片的低頻信息。
[Abstract]:Faces play an important social role in people's lives. Individuals can extract a variety of social information, such as age, sex, race, through the processing of face stimulation. White divides face information into configuration information and feature information to explain the separation of identity expression information: identity recognition depends on configuration information and facial expression recognition depends more on feature information. However, such a division has limitations. At present, there are few scales to support the separation of identity and expression. Previous studies have shown that high-frequency spatial information tends to represent the details, such as facial lines, nose contours, eyes and mouth. Low frequency spatial information does not have the resolution to represent an organ alone, but it can provide information for face detection. Because the cone cells sensitive to high frequency information are mainly concentrated in the central retinal fossa and the rod cells sensitive to low frequency information are mainly concentrated on the periphery of the retina, there may be interaction between spatial frequency and visual field position in face recognition. Spatial frequency may be one of the indicators supporting the separation of facial expression processing and identity processing. The effects of spatial frequency and visual field position on face recognition were investigated from facial expression recognition and identity recognition. The subjects were 20 undergraduates and postgraduates from Hebei University. In experiment one, participants were asked to judge the high-low frequency facial expressions that appeared randomly in the center of the field of vision or around them. They were happy to press the left mouse button and angrily to press the right mouse button. In experiment two, the subjects were asked to judge the identity of the face, and the left button represented the celebrity. Right-right represents non-celebrity. The behavioral data and EEG data of the subjects were recorded during the experiment. In experiment 1, there is interaction between spatial frequency and visual field position. The latency of N170 induced by high frequency faces in the center of visual field is shorter than that of low frequency faces, and the amplitude of N170 is smaller than that of low frequency faces. In experiment 2, the interaction between spatial frequency and visual field position was not significant. The latency of N170 induced by high frequency faces in the center of field is longer than that of low frequency faces, and the amplitude is larger than that of low frequency faces. The latency of high frequency faces was shorter and the amplitude difference was not significant. 3. 3. The high frequency information is superior to the low frequency information in facial expression recognition, and the face identification mainly depends on the low frequency information of the face image.
