As time goes on, each side enters each other's eyes, but in the process there is a clear gap in understanding. First, in the eyes of the Germans before the 20th century, Ma Ke Polo's travels in the 15th century was first translated into German and published in Germany. Thus, China gradually entered the German field of vision, and in the late 16th century, A book on China by Juan Gonzalez de Mendoza of Spain, widely circulated in Europe, was translated into German in 1589 and published under the title "New and succinct work by the powerful, always unfamiliar Chinese Empire."
