【摘要】：美國印第安納州的曼西小城是林德夫婦的《中鎮(zhèn):美國當(dāng)代文化研究》的田野調(diào)查點�！吨墟�(zhèn)》出版后,曼西成為美國社會的典型代表。但是典型性從一開始就成了中鎮(zhèn)研究的中心問題。尤其是,當(dāng)人們對美國社會的多元文化的理解成為主流時,曼西是"中鎮(zhèn)"——一個典型的美國社區(qū)的觀點很難維系下去了。但是,中鎮(zhèn)研究的傳統(tǒng)仍然具有價值。《中鎮(zhèn)》的豐富性吸引了研究者和觀察者一次又一次返回曼西小城,形成了大量的分析、闡釋和關(guān)于一個平凡無奇的社區(qū)的經(jīng)驗數(shù)據(jù),而這種豐富性仍將繼續(xù)吸引著尋求理解美國的學(xué)者和新聞記者。
[Abstract]:The small town of Manci, Indiana, is the field investigation point of Linde's Midtown: a study of American Contemporary Culture. After the publication of Midtown, Manci became a typical representative of American society. But typicality has become the central problem in the study of middle towns from the beginning. In particular, when people's understanding of the multiculturalism of American society becomes mainstream, the view that Manci is a "middle town"-a typical American community, is difficult to sustain. However, the tradition of the study of the middle town is still valuable. The richness of the town attracts researchers and observers to return to Manci again and again, forming a lot of analysis, interpretation and empirical data about an ordinary community. And this richness will continue to attract scholars and journalists seeking to understand the United States.
