【摘要】：自然場景中的文字通常蘊(yùn)含了大量有價值的信息,為理解和分析場景提供了重要線索。而且對于很多視覺應(yīng)用來說,自然場景中的文字檢測算法是其中的關(guān)鍵性技術(shù)。因而幾十年來,該研究領(lǐng)域引起了國內(nèi)外大量學(xué)者的關(guān)注,算法的性能也日益提高。典型的文字檢測算法一般由四個步驟組成,分別是字符候選域提取、非字符域濾除、候選文本行生成和候選文本行驗證。然而,這種處理流程存在著錯誤傳播問題,一旦真正的字符域在第二階段中被系統(tǒng)錯誤地濾除,將會影響到后續(xù)的候選行生成和候選行驗證階段,導(dǎo)致系統(tǒng)的最終召回率較低。針對這一問題,本文提出了基于自適應(yīng)行聚類的自然場景中文字檢測算法。該算法沒有基于字符級別的特征對非字符域做濾除操作,而是為每個候選域賦予了一個文本/非文本的字符概率值。接著,在算法生成候選文本行集合后,系統(tǒng)充分利用文本行級別的特征,將每個候選行映射為三維空間中的一個點。最后,系統(tǒng)在當(dāng)前圖像中采用級聯(lián)的聚類策略區(qū)分開真假文本行,得到最終的輸出結(jié)果。另一方面,為了使算法能夠完成自然場景中任意方向的中英文文本行的檢測任務(wù),本文提出了新的字符候選域提取算法和候選文本行生成算法。在字符候選域提取算法中,我們基于中文字符"方正"的特性,設(shè)計了連通分量提取+滑動窗組合的策略。該策略在不影響英文文本行檢測效果的同時,解決了中文字符被提取成多個字符候選域的問題。而在候選文本行生成算法中,本文則充分利用了文本行的方向一致性,以圖分割的方式來提取候選文本行。本文基于ICDAR-13和MSRA-TD500這兩個國際標(biāo)準(zhǔn)數(shù)據(jù)集,對提出的算法進(jìn)行了評估。實驗結(jié)果表明,對于自然場景中任意方向的中英文文本行,算法能很好地完成檢測任務(wù),其性能達(dá)到了國際一流水平。
[Abstract]:The text in the natural scene usually contains a lot of valuable information, which provides important clues for understanding and analyzing the scene. For many visual applications, text detection algorithm in natural scene is the key technology. Therefore, in recent decades, the research field has attracted the attention of a large number of scholars at home and abroad, and the performance of the algorithm has been improved day by day. A typical text detection algorithm consists of four steps: character candidate field extraction, non-character field filtering, candidate text line generation and candidate text line validation. However, there is a problem of error propagation in this process. Once the real character field is error-filtered in the second stage, it will affect the subsequent candidate row generation and the candidate row validation phase, resulting in a low system final recall rate. To solve this problem, an adaptive line clustering algorithm for text detection in natural scenes is proposed. The algorithm does not filter non-character fields based on character-level features, but assigns a text / non-text character probability value to each candidate field. Then, after the algorithm generates the set of candidate text lines, the system makes full use of the characteristics of the text line level to map each candidate line into a point in the three-dimensional space. Finally, the concatenated clustering strategy is used to distinguish the true and false text lines in the current images, and the final output results are obtained. On the other hand, in order to make the algorithm complete the task of detecting Chinese and English text lines in any direction in natural scene, this paper proposes a new algorithm of character candidate field extraction and candidate text line generation algorithm. In the algorithm of character candidate domain extraction, based on the characteristic of Chinese character "square", we design the strategy of connected component extraction sliding window combination. The strategy solves the problem that Chinese characters are extracted into multiple character candidate fields without affecting the effect of line detection in English text. In the algorithm of generating candidate text line, this paper makes full use of the direction consistency of text line, and extracts candidate text line by graph segmentation. Based on two international standard data sets ICDAR-13 and MSRA-TD500, the proposed algorithm is evaluated. The experimental results show that the algorithm can complete the task of detecting Chinese and English text lines in any direction of the natural scene, and its performance reaches the international first-class level.
