【摘要】:正植物遺傳學(xué)家已找到讓番茄產(chǎn)量翻倍的方法。雖然大部分人關(guān)注的是玉米或番茄的大小和口味,但培育者關(guān)心這些植物如何生長。例如能極大地影響果實(shí)數(shù)量的莖干的分支模式或果實(shí)收獲的難易程度。對(duì)于稻米、大麥和小麥,早期農(nóng)民會(huì)讓那些開花的莖能更多地分支,以便每棵植物能產(chǎn)出更多谷粒。然而,番茄的分支仍像其野生的祖先,先有花,隨后果實(shí)沿著藤末端呈之字形排列。
[Abstract]:Plant genetics has found a way to double tomato production. Although most people are concerned about the size and taste of corn or tomatoes, breeders care about how these plants grow. For example, the branch pattern of stem and trunk, which can greatly affect the number of fruit, or the difficulty of fruit harvest. For rice, barley and wheat, early farmers allowed flowering stems to branch more so that each plant could produce more grains. However, the branches of tomatoes are still like their wild ancestors, with flowers first and then the fruit zigzag along the end of the vine.
