廈門毓德女中辦學(xué)實(shí)踐研究(1921-1951)

【摘要】:1840年鴉片戰(zhàn)爭后,中國淪為半殖民地半封建社會,政治、經(jīng)濟(jì)、文化等各方面都發(fā)生了巨大變化。廈門作為近代中國最早的通商口岸,吸引了大批西方傳教士,他們在傳教的同時,也創(chuàng)辦了一些教會學(xué)校,位于鼓浪嶼上的毓德女學(xué)就是其中的代表。經(jīng)過半個世紀(jì)的發(fā)展,到20世紀(jì)20年代,其終于從成立之初的“女子讀經(jīng)班”,成為中等教育機(jī)構(gòu)——毓德女中。 本文以毓德女中1921至1951年前后30年的辦學(xué)實(shí)踐為研究對象。首先,從縱向上梳理和分析其從創(chuàng)辦到發(fā)展,從輝煌到困境直至最終完結(jié)的歷史進(jìn)程,展現(xiàn)了它同當(dāng)時歷史環(huán)境息息相關(guān)的命運(yùn)軌跡。其次,從行政管理、學(xué)生管理、教師管理三點(diǎn)出發(fā),展現(xiàn)了其在董事會監(jiān)督、校長負(fù)責(zé)、教職員參與的行政管理格局下,既重視學(xué)業(yè)教授又重視言行規(guī)范的學(xué)校管理風(fēng)貌。最后,圍繞宗教教育、女子教育、音樂教育、英語教育、國語教育等五大教育實(shí)踐,從教育背景、教育內(nèi)容、教育成果及評價三個角度深入探討了毓德女中辦學(xué)實(shí)踐的具體情形及其與社會環(huán)境、地方文化的互動關(guān)系:如在宗教教育方面,堅(jiān)持開設(shè)宗教課程,并大力發(fā)展宗教活動;在女子教育方面,注重培養(yǎng)獨(dú)立自主、貢獻(xiàn)參與的新女性精神;在音樂教育方面,著重提升音樂素養(yǎng),并同鼓浪嶼的音樂氛圍相互促進(jìn);在英語教育方面,通過課程編排和語言環(huán)境的營造,循序漸進(jìn)地適度發(fā)展;在國語教育方面,結(jié)合廈門地區(qū)的語言環(huán)境,大力推進(jìn)國語教學(xué)和國語交流等。 本研究從實(shí)際出發(fā),通過搜集有關(guān)資料并借鑒已有研究成果,客觀地呈現(xiàn)了20世紀(jì)20年代初到50年代初廈門毓德女中辦學(xué)實(shí)踐的真實(shí)面貌。又由于毓德女中的辦學(xué)實(shí)踐是教會在華教育事業(yè)的一部分,本研究在闡述毓德女中辦學(xué)實(shí)踐的同時,也從側(cè)面展現(xiàn)了20世紀(jì)20至30年代后,在華教會中學(xué)在中國化、世俗化進(jìn)程中的一般樣態(tài)。
[Abstract]:After the Opium War in 1840, China was reduced to a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society. Great changes took place in politics, economy, culture and other aspects. Xiamen, as the earliest commercial port in modern China, attracted a large number of Western missionaries. While they preached, they also set up some missionary schools. The Yude Women's School on Gulangyu Island was one of them. After half a century of development, to the 1920s, it finally from the beginning of the establishment of the "women's reading class" to secondary education institutions - Yude Women's Middle School.
This paper takes the 30-year running practice of Yude Female Middle School from 1921 to 1951 as the research object. Firstly, it analyzes the historical process of Yude Female Middle School from its founding to development, from brilliance to predicament to final completion, and shows its destiny closely related to the historical environment at that time. Finally, around the five major educational practices of religion education, women's education, music education, English education and Mandarin education, from the educational background, educational content and educational achievements It also explores the specific situation of school-running practice in Yude Women's Middle School and its interaction with social environment and local culture from three perspectives: for example, in religious education, we should insist on offering religious courses and vigorously develop religious activities; in women's education, we should pay attention to cultivating new women's spirit of independence and participation; and in music education. In terms of education, emphasis should be placed on improving musical accomplishment and promoting each other with the musical atmosphere of Gulangyu; in terms of English education, appropriate development should be made step by step through curriculum arrangement and language environment construction; and in terms of language education, Chinese language teaching and communication should be vigorously promoted in combination with the linguistic environment of Xiamen.
This study objectively presents the real situation of the school-running practice of Yude Women's Middle School in Xiamen from the early 1920s to the early 1950s by collecting relevant information and drawing on the existing research results. Moreover, because the school-running practice of Yude Women's Middle School is a part of the Church's education in China, this study expounds the similarities of the school-running practice of Yude Women's Middle School in Xiamen. It also shows the general pattern of Chinese Church Middle School in the process of secularization from 1920s to 1930s.
