【摘要】：無論是舊上海還是新時期的大上海,其在政治、經(jīng)濟、文化上的光芒矚目程度都是首屈一指的。即便是舊中國的上海,發(fā)展也最快速,作為近現(xiàn)代中國西學(xué)東漸時期開放最早的商埠,以上海為據(jù)點發(fā)行刊印的報紙也是近現(xiàn)代中國發(fā)展和接納西方思想最真實最前沿的寫照,在其社會、文化、生活、政治等各個領(lǐng)域中,無疑起著某種開創(chuàng)和引領(lǐng)作用�！蹲至治鲌蟆肪褪钦Q生于這一時期,《字林西報》1850年創(chuàng)刊于上海,更名前是《北華捷報》,截止1951年3月,《字林西報》停刊,前后歷經(jīng)101年。在101年的歷史長廊中,《字林西報》是廣大華夏土地上的人民歷經(jīng)數(shù)百年的痛苦、屈辱和掙扎的見證者,它目睹了無數(shù)華夏人民數(shù)百年的抗?fàn)幒蛫^起反擊。100年的滄桑歲月里,在西學(xué)東漸的歷史過程中,西方文化的標(biāo)志性符號:新式體育逐漸滲透到中華文明的軀體里成為了中國現(xiàn)代化進(jìn)程的重要組成部分,也于此時深深嵌入到中國人的記憶當(dāng)中。如果你翻看一頁頁歷史的卷宗,俯瞰中國歷史的長河會發(fā)現(xiàn)《字林西報》是某一標(biāo)志性時期的親歷者,它記錄了西方新式體育被國人認(rèn)識、發(fā)現(xiàn)、接納到傳播和學(xué)習(xí)的整個過程。翻看發(fā)黃的《字林西報》報卷,一頁頁體育新聞報道,記錄了當(dāng)時中國體育新聞傳播的圖景,中國體育運動員參加各種賽事的場景仍然歷歷在目:一望無際的黃浦江邊,一個個身強體壯激情四射的青年們在才加賽馬比賽;上海租界區(qū)新式學(xué)堂內(nèi),莘莘學(xué)子們在整齊規(guī)范的操練西式體操;田徑、足球、跳遠(yuǎn)等現(xiàn)代競技比賽運動把中國最早的運動員們靈活矯健的身姿刻寫的真真切切,一切都宛如昨日。細(xì)細(xì)翻看報紙,這發(fā)黃的報刊中記錄了從1850年創(chuàng)刊到1951年�？�,近現(xiàn)代中國體育新聞傳播的每個階段和時期,也清晰的看到了歷史的腳步如何一步步走進(jìn)近現(xiàn)代的大上海。再將其與同時期的《申報》、《大公報》等作比較后發(fā)現(xiàn)《字林西報》與《申報》報道內(nèi)容的發(fā)展幾乎同步,與《字林西報》新聞事業(yè)的發(fā)展基本同步,與近現(xiàn)代中國體育事業(yè)傳播的發(fā)展基本同步,可以劃分為四個階段:起步期、過渡期、平穩(wěn)期和動蕩期。100年里,《字林西報》關(guān)于運動員的體育報道發(fā)生了翻天覆地的變化,在其非常顯著的變化過程中最明顯的就是報道內(nèi)容不斷走向完美,對于運動員的塑造更加全面和形象,不斷接近于現(xiàn)代體育報道。每一個時期和階段的體育報道都值得仔細(xì)研究,比如同樣是關(guān)于運動的報道,但每個時期對于運動員報道的內(nèi)容卻大相徑庭:“起步時期對于運動員的描寫和報道單一,近乎平鋪直敘,而到了過渡期,非常顯著的特點事報道內(nèi)容枯燥和沉悶,平穩(wěn)期關(guān)于運動員的體育報道逐步發(fā)展的內(nèi)容豐富、報道類型多樣,隨著時間推移,伴隨著動蕩期社會的不穩(wěn)定和戰(zhàn)亂頻繁,有關(guān)運動員的報道雜亂、一筆帶過或者多變。(引用肖鴻波《申報》77年體育報道研究)。所有這些特點并非個人因研究需要所貼上的標(biāo)簽,每個時期的內(nèi)容和形式早有前人進(jìn)行研究分析,如肖鴻波《申報77年體育報道研究》中就非常詳盡的對該時期的特點進(jìn)行分類和總結(jié),加之《申報》與《字林西報》在記錄歷史軌跡方面的一致性,所以本文也得出這些結(jié)論�！蹲至治鲌蟆烦蹀k時期,體育賽事就有專門的版面“sports”,雖然每周都有關(guān)于不同賽事的報道,但是真正能反映近現(xiàn)代中國時期西學(xué)東漸影響新式體育在中國逐步發(fā)展起來的則當(dāng)屬每隔幾年的大型運動會。《字林西報》大型運動會的報道特征有起步期、過渡期、平穩(wěn)期和動蕩期四個階段的流變,這種報道特征恰如其分的刻畫出不同時期運動員媒體形象變化的過程:世界運動會讓中國運動員選手與國外選手站在同一起跑線下,遠(yuǎn)東運動會讓中國運動員選手有了最實際的對比和競爭者,自1930年之后全國運動會對于運動員的報道逐步占據(jù)“sports”版面中越來越多的位置。每一種大型運動會對于運動員的報道都各有千秋,對中國體育報道的發(fā)展帶來了較深的影響,即便在當(dāng)代,在體育新聞報道中對于運動員的報道仍然能看到當(dāng)年大型運動會報道的影子。100年《字林西報》關(guān)于運動員的報道,無論在形式方面還是內(nèi)容架構(gòu)上,這些報道都發(fā)生了重大的變化,可圈可點的地方比比皆是。政治變化、社會動蕩與太平、經(jīng)濟的發(fā)展都影響到《字林西報》關(guān)于運動員報道的變化,另外除去這幾點原因,體育事業(yè)的發(fā)展和新聞傳播的逐漸形成也影響了運動員報道內(nèi)容的變遷。通過剖析影響運動員形象的新聞內(nèi)容與形式變化的因素,運動員媒體形象變遷的趨勢和發(fā)展方向可以非常明顯的呈現(xiàn)出來,解釋和理解近現(xiàn)代中國運動員媒體形象變遷無疑可以曲徑通幽找到這把特殊的“鑰匙”。就其于歷史學(xué)研究的意義來說,《字林西報》中關(guān)于運動員的體育新聞報道可以概括近現(xiàn)代中國運動員媒體形象變遷,可以管窺近現(xiàn)代中國體育事業(yè)的發(fā)展變遷,可以探析近現(xiàn)代社會歷史的發(fā)展方向;就其現(xiàn)實意義來說,《字林西報》是近代中國影響面積非常大受眾群體非常廣的一份報紙,研究其關(guān)于運動員的體育新聞報道,對于當(dāng)今各大報業(yè)學(xué)習(xí)其辦報的經(jīng)營策略和思考其辦報理念和報道業(yè)務(wù),對于當(dāng)今的新聞報道都有很重要的價值。比如其辦報標(biāo)榜“局外中立”,但提出“公正而非中立”等等�！蹲至治鲌蟆�100年體育新聞報道有兩大重要功勞:其一凸顯了體育新聞報道的專業(yè)性,賦予了體育新聞報道獨立的報道特征,并以此區(qū)別于其他的新聞報道門類。其二作為中華民族解放和獨立宣傳的一部分,它為中華民族這個共同體提供了很好的想象方式,成為宣傳民族解放和獨立的工具與載體之一。一言以蔽之,《字林西報》體育新聞報道是中國現(xiàn)代化進(jìn)程的結(jié)果,《字林西報》關(guān)于運動員媒體形象的塑造也是中國現(xiàn)代化進(jìn)程的重要原因。本研究主要運用文獻(xiàn)綜述法、內(nèi)容分析法、邏輯分析與歸納法,以1911一1941年這三十年間《字林西報》報刊中所報道的300篇關(guān)于運動員的新聞報道為樣本,從運動員現(xiàn)實形象和媒體重構(gòu)運動員形象兩大方面對運動員報道內(nèi)容進(jìn)行編碼分析和定量描述,初步展示了近現(xiàn)代中國不同歷史階段中我國運動員媒體形象的特征及其變遷并呈現(xiàn)為四個時期:起步期、過渡期、平穩(wěn)期、動蕩期分別構(gòu)成不同的運動員媒體形象。在此基礎(chǔ)上.本文探討了近現(xiàn)代中國運動員媒體形象變遷與我國近現(xiàn)代社會變遷之間的某些聯(lián)系。對《字林西報》歷屆大型運動會關(guān)于運動員的報道內(nèi)容進(jìn)行歸納整理,探尋其在報道內(nèi)容報道方式上面的脈絡(luò),探討對于運動員的報道宗旨和報道策略變遷,總結(jié)報道規(guī)模和報道風(fēng)格的演變,進(jìn)而深入挖掘其對于運動員形象塑造的風(fēng)格特征。
