培養(yǎng)整全之人:大變革時(shí)代的美國大學(xué)理念煥新及其啟示

【摘要】:19世紀(jì)末20世紀(jì)初,南北戰(zhàn)爭結(jié)束后的美國社會(huì)進(jìn)入快速發(fā)展期,大學(xué)也迎來了大變革時(shí)代。這一階段美國大學(xué)的顯性特征是辦學(xué)規(guī)模的膨脹和現(xiàn)代體制的確立,實(shí)質(zhì)上更深刻的內(nèi)在變化是理念的煥新。基于對(duì)功利主義教育和研究型大學(xué)的反思,以洛厄爾為首的改革者整合古典自由教育的修辭學(xué)和哲學(xué)兩大理路,提出了"培養(yǎng)整全之人"的教育理念,并從建造書院、重構(gòu)課程和獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)學(xué)業(yè)三個(gè)方面著手建構(gòu)大學(xué)文化共同體,以提升大學(xué)品質(zhì)、塑造公民性格。
[Abstract]:At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, American society entered a period of rapid development after the end of the Civil War, and universities ushered in the era of great change. The dominant feature of American universities at this stage is the expansion of the school-running scale and the establishment of the modern system. In essence, the more profound internal changes are the renewal of the concept. Based on the reflection on utilitarian education and research-oriented universities, the reformers, led by Lowell, integrated the rhetoric and philosophy of classical free education, and put forward the educational idea of "cultivating the integrator", and from the construction of the academy, In order to improve the quality of university and shape the character of citizens, we set out to construct the cultural community of universities in the three aspects of curriculum reconstruction and reward study.
