芝加哥大學(xué)社會學(xué)學(xué)科快速建成世界一流學(xué)科的過程及原因(19世紀末至20世紀30年代中期)

【摘要】:20世紀30年代中期,美國出現(xiàn)了歷史上的第一個社會學(xué)學(xué)派,也就是芝加哥大學(xué)社會學(xué)學(xué)派。它的出現(xiàn)很大程度上標(biāo)志著芝加哥大學(xué)社會學(xué)學(xué)科發(fā)展高峰的形成。在這一時期,芝加哥大學(xué)社會學(xué)學(xué)科不但建成了以城市問題為導(dǎo)向的學(xué)術(shù)研究中心,還構(gòu)建了強大的社會學(xué)學(xué)術(shù)梯隊,涌現(xiàn)了大批先進的學(xué)術(shù)成果,并最終建成了舉世聞名的學(xué)術(shù)共同體;仡欀ゼ痈绱髮W(xué)社會學(xué)學(xué)科建設(shè)的歷史,其快速崛起過程主要經(jīng)歷了三個發(fā)展階段。19世紀末,以研究型大學(xué)的出現(xiàn)為契機,憑借歐洲和美國本土的社會學(xué)思想給養(yǎng),芝加哥大學(xué)通過建系、創(chuàng)刊等措施,率先完成了社會學(xué)學(xué)科的基層組織建設(shè),走上了這門新興學(xué)科的發(fā)展之路。到了20世紀初,外部社會環(huán)境的變化,加上其他高校社會學(xué)學(xué)科的后續(xù)發(fā)展,給芝加哥大學(xué)社會學(xué)學(xué)科提出了新的發(fā)展任務(wù)。在已有建設(shè)的基礎(chǔ)上,芝加哥大學(xué)社會學(xué)學(xué)系通過擴大學(xué)科人員規(guī)模、加強學(xué)生培養(yǎng)等措施,使得社會學(xué)學(xué)科走進了學(xué)術(shù)發(fā)展的新臺階。而從20世紀20年代中期開始,憑借外部的大規(guī)模資助,芝加哥大學(xué)社會學(xué)學(xué)科又瞄準(zhǔn)層出不窮的城市化問題,快速革新內(nèi)部機制,并將其輻射到研究過程的各項環(huán)節(jié),進而快速崛起為芝加哥大學(xué)社會學(xué)學(xué)派。芝加哥大學(xué)社會學(xué)學(xué)科的快速崛起以及一流學(xué)科地位的最終確立,背后包含了學(xué)科建設(shè)的一些普遍要素,突出表現(xiàn)在其學(xué)術(shù)團隊的構(gòu)建、發(fā)展機制的創(chuàng)新、學(xué)科理論的探索、學(xué)科人才的培養(yǎng)等方面,對這幾個方面的分析恰恰能夠為我國一流學(xué)科的建設(shè)工作提供一些有價值的參照。
[Abstract]:In the mid-1930 s, the first sociological school appeared in America, that is, the Sociology School of the University of Chicago. To a large extent, it marks the formation of the high development of sociology at the University of Chicago. During this period, the sociology discipline of the University of Chicago not only built a city-oriented academic research center, but also constructed a strong sociological academic echelon, and a large number of advanced academic achievements emerged. And finally built a world-famous academic community. Looking back on the history of sociology discipline construction at the University of Chicago, its rapid rise has mainly experienced three stages of development. At the end of the 19th century, the emergence of research universities was taken as an opportunity to rely on the sociological ideas of Europe and the United States. The University of Chicago took the lead in the construction of the basic organization of sociology through the establishment of the department and the founding of the journal, and embarked on the road of the development of this new discipline. At the beginning of the 20th century, the changes of the external social environment and the subsequent development of other sociology disciplines in colleges and universities put forward a new development task for the sociology discipline of the University of Chicago. On the basis of the existing construction, the Department of Sociology of the University of Chicago has stepped into a new stage of academic development by expanding the scale of subject personnel and strengthening the cultivation of students. Since the mid-1920s, with large-scale external funding, the sociology discipline of the University of Chicago has aimed at the endless problems of urbanization, rapidly innovating the internal mechanism, and radiating it to all aspects of the research process. And then quickly emerged as the sociology school of the University of Chicago. The rapid rise of the sociology discipline of the University of Chicago and the final establishment of the status of the first-class discipline contain some common elements of the discipline construction, which are highlighted in the construction of its academic team, the innovation of the development mechanism, and the exploration of the discipline theory. The analysis of these aspects can provide some valuable reference for the construction of the first-class discipline in our country.
