【摘要】：近代留美學(xué)生對于中西文化問題展開了多方面的探索。以梅光迪、吳宓為代表的哈佛留學(xué)生群體受白璧德新人文主義思想的影響,強(qiáng)調(diào)中西文化的調(diào)和。其中,梅光迪懷抱"文學(xué)救國"的熱忱,試圖通過文學(xué)批評與文化批評轉(zhuǎn)移社會風(fēng)氣;吳宓則力求會通文史哲,以期對西方文明有較為全面的認(rèn)識,進(jìn)而尋求中西文化的融合。這一時期,他們二人的探索彰顯了廣闊的文化視野與強(qiáng)烈的文化使命感,展現(xiàn)出近代文科留美學(xué)生所應(yīng)有的理想與抱負(fù)。
[Abstract]:The students studying in the United States in modern times explored the cultural problems of China and the West in many aspects. The group of Harvard students represented by Mei Guangdi and Wu Mi was influenced by Babbitt's new humanism and emphasized the harmony of Chinese and western cultures. Among them, Mei Guangdi tried to transfer the social atmosphere through literary criticism and cultural criticism with the zeal of "literature to save the country", while Wu Mi sought to understand western civilization in an all-round way and to seek the fusion of Chinese and western cultures. During this period, their exploration revealed a broad cultural vision and a strong sense of cultural mission, showing the ideals and aspirations of modern liberal arts students studying in the United States.
