繁榮與調(diào)整:戰(zhàn)后美國高等教育發(fā)展的歷史軌跡

【摘要】:二戰(zhàn)之后半個(gè)多世紀(jì)的美國高等教育的發(fā)展大體上可以分為"繁榮"與"調(diào)整"兩個(gè)階段。在20世紀(jì)70年代之前,美國高等教育經(jīng)歷了史無前例的快速發(fā)展,建立了世界上第一個(gè)大眾化高等教育系統(tǒng),同時(shí)美國大學(xué)的學(xué)術(shù)地位也不斷上升。20世紀(jì)70年代中期以后,美國高等教育進(jìn)入了發(fā)展速度相對緩慢的調(diào)整時(shí)期。在這一階段美國高等教育問題激增,在不斷進(jìn)行的調(diào)整中美國高等教育發(fā)生了與前一個(gè)階段顯著不同的變化。美國高等教育在戰(zhàn)后的快速發(fā)展和取得的巨大成功與戰(zhàn)后美國的強(qiáng)盛、美國社會(huì)和民眾以及聯(lián)邦政府對教育的重視與支持、美國高等教育系統(tǒng)本身所形成的特點(diǎn)等因素密切相關(guān)。
[Abstract]:The development of American higher education after World War II can be divided into two stages: prosperity and adjustment. Before the 1970s, American higher education experienced unprecedented rapid development and established the first popular higher education system in the world. At the same time, the academic status of American universities also rose continuously after the mid-1970s. American higher education has entered a relatively slow period of adjustment. In this stage, the problems of American higher education proliferated, and in the process of adjustment, the American higher education changed significantly from the previous stage. The rapid development and great success of American higher education after the war and the strength of the United States after the war, American society and people as well as the federal government attach importance and support to education. The characteristics of American higher education system are closely related to other factors.
