【摘要】：大學(xué)更名是世界高等教育發(fā)展史上普遍的現(xiàn)象。20世紀(jì)90年代中期,為吸引和招收更大范圍的優(yōu)質(zhì)生源,美國特倫頓州立學(xué)院更名為新澤西學(xué)院。這一行為遭到了校內(nèi)外諸多利益相關(guān)者的反對,并引發(fā)了與普林斯頓大學(xué)的校名所有權(quán)之爭。為奪回校名所有權(quán),普林斯頓大學(xué)采取了申請專利保護(hù)、法律訴訟等手段,最終雙方以庭外和解的方式化解了沖突。新澤西學(xué)院更名事件,對我國高等教育發(fā)展具有幾點(diǎn)啟示:一是理性看待更名,支持大學(xué)謀劃發(fā)展;二是加強(qiáng)協(xié)商溝通,和平合理解決沖突;三是建立完善大學(xué)章程,有效防止校名被侵占;四是正確引導(dǎo)輿論,避免事件惡化升級。
[Abstract]:University renaming is a common phenomenon in the history of higher education in the world. In the middle of 90s, in order to attract and recruit a larger range of high-quality students, Trenton State College was renamed New Jersey College. This action has been opposed by many stakeholders both inside and outside the university, and has led to a dispute over the ownership of the name of Princeton University. Princeton University applied for patent protection, legal proceedings and other means, finally the two sides resolved the conflict by settling the conflict out of court. The New Jersey College name change incident has several implications for the development of higher education in China: first, the rational view of the change of name. To support the planning and development of universities; second, to strengthen consultation and communication, and to resolve conflicts peacefully and rationally; third, to establish and improve the university charter to effectively prevent school names from being encroached on; and fourth, to correctly guide public opinion and avoid the escalation of incidents.
