Antioch is a wine brewing family since the Renaissance. Generations lived in the Antioch Palace in central Florence's Antioch Square to the present day. Usually a commercial brewery building is hard to win the Mies Prize for, and its entry is partly due to its contribution to the revival of the local wine industry in the suburbs of Florence, which has broken beyond the wine industry to become a wine culture.
