【摘要】：本文以美國為例,從跨國公司對外直接投資的動機切入,研究當(dāng)一個國家的國內(nèi)市場需求下降時,該國對外直接投資會受到怎樣的影響。 跨國公司的在母國的市場需求受到宏觀經(jīng)濟的影響,也受到行業(yè)因素的影響。經(jīng)濟危機、行業(yè)波動都會使跨國公司在母國的產(chǎn)品需求下降。本文發(fā)現(xiàn),美國國內(nèi)市場需求下降,會使美國對外直接投資減少。對于水平型跨國公司,美國市場需求下降會增加美國跨國公司的預(yù)防性資金持有需求,從而減少對外直接投資的內(nèi)部融資能力。同時根據(jù)資金持有的需要,跨國公司母公司要能夠?qū)崿F(xiàn)跨期資金持有量的穩(wěn)定,從而形成對外直接投資的內(nèi)部融資約束。美國市場需求下降會增加這種約束,使對外直接投資進(jìn)一步減少。對于垂直型跨國公司,當(dāng)美國面臨需求沖擊時,最終產(chǎn)品在美國市場需求下降,意味著企業(yè)需要調(diào)整最終產(chǎn)品的產(chǎn)量,從而減少對中間產(chǎn)品的需求。根據(jù)比較優(yōu)勢動機,跨國公司會減少對生產(chǎn)中間產(chǎn)品的海外分支機構(gòu)的直接投資。 本文采用美國食品、化工、初級金屬及金屬制品、機械、電子計算機、電器設(shè)備、運輸設(shè)備7個行業(yè)的面板數(shù)據(jù)進(jìn)行實證分析,證實了美國市場需求下降對對外直接投資的影響機制。據(jù)此,本文針對一個國家需求下降時如何推進(jìn)本國企業(yè)對外直接投資、如何減少外商直接投資受母國市場需求下降的影響這兩個問題提出了相應(yīng)的政策建議。
[Abstract]:This paper, taking the United States as an example, explores how the country's foreign direct investment will be affected when the domestic market demand of a country falls, from the motivation of the multinational direct investment.
The market demand of MNCs in the home country is affected by the macro-economy and also influenced by the industry factors. The economic crisis and the industry fluctuation will reduce the demand for the products of the MNCs in the home country. In order to reduce the internal financing capacity of foreign direct investment, the decline will increase the internal financing capacity of the foreign direct investment. Meanwhile, according to the needs of the capital, the parent company of the multinational company will be able to achieve the stability of the inter term capital holdings, thus forming the internal financing constraints of direct investment. When the United States faces demand shocks, the demand for final products falls in the US market, which means that enterprises need to adjust the output of the final products to reduce the demand for intermediate products. The direct investment of the overseas branch of the product.
This paper empirically analyses the panel data of 7 industries, such as American food, chemical, primary metal and metal products, machinery, electronic computer, electrical equipment and transportation equipment, and confirms the impact mechanism of the decline in demand on foreign direct investment in the United States. Direct investment, how to reduce the impact of foreign direct investment on the decline of market demand in the home country, put forward corresponding policy recommendations.
