‘連貫’通常指連接話語或句子含義的種種關(guān)系,旨在為讀者創(chuàng)造有意義的語篇。它常常被視為一種模糊、復(fù)雜的概念。然而‘連貫’這一概念卻引起了許多語言學(xué)家和寫作專家的興趣。目前,有關(guān)‘連貫’的研究有兩種不同的觀點(diǎn):立足于語篇本身,或立足于讀者。前者認(rèn)為語篇是由作者構(gòu)建、安排信息的順序,因此連貫可視為語篇本身所具有的特征。然而近來心理學(xué)和語用學(xué)的研究表明語篇是否連貫與讀者對語篇的理解有關(guān),連貫在某種意義上可以說是取決于讀者與語篇有效的互動(dòng)。在過去的幾十年里,已有相當(dāng)數(shù)量的關(guān)于‘連貫’的研究。然而這些研究所提出的理論很少可以實(shí)際運(yùn)用到英語作為外語的寫作教學(xué),或用于指導(dǎo)學(xué)生改善寫作語篇整體的連貫性。鑒于以上原因,本文將以連貫作為研究主題,探討如何運(yùn)用‘新舊信息契約’和‘主題結(jié)構(gòu)分析’理論,來指導(dǎo)學(xué)生修改初稿,提高語篇整體的連貫性。所謂‘新舊信息契約’,指的是在一個(gè)句子里,已知信息通常出現(xiàn)在句子的前半部分,而新信息則出現(xiàn)在句子的后半部分,即整個(gè)句子呈現(xiàn)出“已知信息+新信息”的信息結(jié)構(gòu)�！黝}結(jié)構(gòu)分析’是指通過考察句子主題和語篇主題之間的語意關(guān)系來分析整個(gè)語篇主題的發(fā)展�！屡f信息契約’妥善地連接了句子...
