意圖、約定與順應(yīng)——略論說(shuō)者意義

【摘要】:不少語(yǔ)言哲學(xué)家希望通過(guò)分析說(shuō)者意義的充分必要條件來(lái)獲得對(duì)于意義、語(yǔ)言與交流的深層理解。其中,格賴斯和斯特勞森確立了意圖乃至復(fù)雜意圖在說(shuō)者意義中的核心地位。路易斯則認(rèn)為語(yǔ)言通過(guò)約定來(lái)獲得意義,說(shuō)者意義本質(zhì)上表現(xiàn)為一種對(duì)他人的期望。托馬森指出由于人們具有順應(yīng)的能力,因而可以在識(shí)別對(duì)方會(huì)話計(jì)劃的基礎(chǔ)上掌握說(shuō)者意義。那么,從意圖到約定,從約定到順應(yīng),說(shuō)者意義理論的發(fā)展經(jīng)歷了怎樣的進(jìn)程?該進(jìn)程究竟應(yīng)當(dāng)被看作是前進(jìn)式的還是回歸式的?這是本文將要討論的問(wèn)題。
[Abstract]:Many language philosophers hope to gain a deep understanding of meaning, language and communication by analyzing the necessary and sufficient conditions of the speaker's meaning. Among them, Grice and Strausen established the core position of intention and even complex intention in the meaning of the speaker. Louis argues that language acquires meaning by convention, and the speaker's meaning is essentially an expectation of others. Thommassen points out that because people have the ability to adapt, they can grasp the meaning of the speaker on the basis of identifying the other party's conversation plan. So, from intention to convention, from agreement to adaptation, what process has the theory of meaning experienced? Should the process be seen as progressive or regressive? This is the problem to be discussed in this paper.
