[Abstract]:7-ketocholesterol 7-KC is a form of cholesterol oxidation and plays an important role in the formation of animal atherosclerosis models. The authors attempted to determine the relationship between circulating 7-KC and clinical cardiovascular outcomes and total mortality in patients with stable coronary artery disease. Methods: in a prospective cohort study of 1016 stable CAD patients (mean age 63.2 years, male: 61.1%) from December 2008 to December 2011, plasma levels were measured by HPLC.
