《無事生非》中話語的(不)禮貌研究

戲劇作為一種重要的文學(xué)體裁,具有其鮮明的文體特征。戲劇中的語言不僅僅是作者的藝術(shù)創(chuàng)作,更是生活的再現(xiàn),因而具有較大的研究價(jià)值。但是長久以來,戲劇很少受到語言學(xué)家的青睞,而一直被視為“遺忘的孩子”(Culpeper, Short, Verdonk, 1998: 3)。近年來雖然有不少學(xué)者對戲劇體裁產(chǎn)生了濃厚的興趣,但是從禮貌和不禮貌的角度來分析戲劇的研究仍然少之又少。 本文以威廉·莎士比亞最成功的喜劇之一——《無事生非》為研究對象,以語用學(xué)相關(guān)理論為理論基礎(chǔ),包括言語行為理論,禮貌相關(guān)理論和不禮貌相關(guān)理論。在國內(nèi)外學(xué)者們對戲劇研究的基礎(chǔ)上,本文嘗試從禮貌和不禮貌的角度對該戲劇中的話語進(jìn)行分析,闡釋劇中人物的言外之意,以揭示其話語向聽話人所傳遞的信息是否禮貌。 本文運(yùn)用上述的語用學(xué)理論,對劇中人物話語的具體例子進(jìn)行了詳細(xì)剖析。通常情況下,出于對別人面子的考慮,劇中人物用禮貌話語來表達(dá)對他人的尊重。但是,在某些情況下,他們的禮貌話語在無意中向聽話人傳遞了不禮貌的信息。而且,禮貌話語還常常被作為一種語用策略,以達(dá)到他們的某種交際目的。另一方面,不禮貌話語既可以傳遞不禮貌信息,也可以產(chǎn)生禮貌的效...
