笛福在《瘟疫年紀(jì)事》中對(duì)主流話語(yǔ)的顛覆與抑制

丹尼爾·笛福是17至18世紀(jì)英國(guó)享譽(yù)盛名激進(jìn)政治家與小說(shuō)家。1722年發(fā)表的小說(shuō)《瘟疫年紀(jì)事》給笛福帶來(lái)了很大的成功,盡管它受批判和受吹捧的程度同樣引人關(guān)注。這本小說(shuō)與笛福其它宣講文相得益彰,對(duì)1721年的政府隔離法案中的船只隔離與醫(yī)療措施持很明顯的支持態(tài)度。基于笛福精確而逼真的敘述,小說(shuō)所反映出來(lái)的一系列問題,諸如政治的基本職責(zé)、人性的不堪一擊以及由人類自身理性和情感的不一致所產(chǎn)生的不可調(diào)和的矛盾,至今引人深思。笛福成功地見證了這個(gè)宗教執(zhí)念讓步于科學(xué)理性的歷史時(shí)刻。然而,在論文材料收集階段,筆者發(fā)現(xiàn)國(guó)內(nèi)對(duì)《瘟疫年紀(jì)事》的研究較少,為數(shù)不多的相關(guān)文學(xué)評(píng)述也尚未觸及小說(shuō)的理性主流。本文旨在尋找這股最終決定了笛福思想游離性的潛在力量,同時(shí)結(jié)合弗洛伊德的行為心理學(xué)的研究方法和格林布拉特的新歷史主義的研究角度,進(jìn)行深層次的研究。笛福首先借助困擾小說(shuō)敘述者的逃離與留守的問題進(jìn)入理性主流話語(yǔ)。18世紀(jì)是一個(gè)以啟蒙理性主義為文化背景的特殊歷史時(shí)期。在那個(gè)時(shí)期,大多數(shù)理性主義者受牛頓和洛克的影響,極力推崇經(jīng)驗(yàn)主義的觀察方法和科學(xué)的質(zhì)疑態(tài)度,而非傳統(tǒng)的宗教執(zhí)念,笛福塑造的敘述者也不例外。笛福從對(duì)倫敦城的...
