Zora Neale Hurston的小說《他們眼望上蒼》是美國文學(xué)史上第一部以黑人女性為主人公,以描述其努力尋求自我價值為主題的女性主義敘事學(xué)的作品,被評論界一致認(rèn)為是美國黑人女性文學(xué)的先驅(qū)。受到Hurston的影響,Alice Walker對于反映黑人女性生活這一主題進(jìn)行了繼承和發(fā)揚。她的代表作《紫色》講述了黑人女性如何通過自己的努力,實現(xiàn)自我價值的歷程。無論從敘事策略還是故事情節(jié)上,《他們眼望上蒼》和《紫色》有著極大的相似之處,同時因個人與時代特點等的不同,在語言文體特征上存在差別。以往對于兩部作品的研究多側(cè)重于語言特點,敘事策略等文學(xué)層面,并且多為基于直覺的主觀定性研究。本研究以基于語料庫的研究方法,從語言學(xué)的計量文體學(xué)角度,對《他們眼望上蒼》和《紫色》進(jìn)行定量、定性的分析。為兩部文學(xué)作品提供量化的分析數(shù)據(jù),為文學(xué)研究提供新視角。本文通過對兩篇小說的段落結(jié)構(gòu)、標(biāo)點符號、單詞長度和句子長度這些語言特征以及運用Biber提出的多維分析方法進(jìn)行分析和比較,發(fā)現(xiàn)兩部作品的文體特征既有相同之處,又存在差異。由于小說故事情節(jié)差異,在段落結(jié)構(gòu)和句長上,兩部作品存在顯著性差異,但因為主題相同,...
