20世紀(jì)50年代美國冷戰(zhàn)小說的文學(xué)社會(huì)學(xué)研究

文學(xué)社會(huì)學(xué)是從社會(huì)學(xué)的角度研究文學(xué)作品的一種跨學(xué)科視角,它既研究文學(xué)對社會(huì)的反映及作用,也研究社會(huì)對文學(xué)的影響及規(guī)范。文學(xué)社會(huì)學(xué)主要突顯文學(xué)文本與其外部背景的互動(dòng)關(guān)系,在歷史語境的關(guān)照下對文學(xué)作品進(jìn)行分析與解讀。二十世紀(jì)五十年代在社會(huì)心理層面見證了美國人從二戰(zhàn)后的興奮到冷戰(zhàn)初期壓抑的改變。在此期間美國經(jīng)濟(jì)迅速發(fā)展,美國社會(huì)進(jìn)入了一個(gè)令人歡欣鼓舞的豐裕期。然而,隨著世界冷戰(zhàn)格局的確立,美國國內(nèi)出現(xiàn)了反蘇反共情緒。杜魯門政府為了遏制共產(chǎn)主義的不斷擴(kuò)張,在國內(nèi)開展了忠誠運(yùn)動(dòng),要求人人忠于國家。此后,甚囂塵上的麥卡錫主義將反共浪潮擴(kuò)大到美國的各個(gè)階層,造成了社會(huì)生活中的極度不安與恐慌,即,紅色恐慌和紫色恐慌。五十年代的社會(huì)文化對美國的小說創(chuàng)作產(chǎn)生了重大影響。經(jīng)濟(jì)豐裕與政治高壓所造成的焦慮與迷茫使得很多美國人感到窒息,他們對社會(huì)不滿并且精神緊張。但是,迫于麥卡錫主義的壓制,他們以吸毒、喝酒、流浪等離經(jīng)叛道的生活方式來表達(dá)自己的抗議,對社會(huì)迫害和思想鉗制提出挑戰(zhàn)。這種矛盾的社會(huì)情緒在這一時(shí)期的文學(xué)作品中得到了反映。其中杰羅姆·大衛(wèi)·塞林格的《麥田里的守望者》,杰克·凱魯亞克的《在路上》,約翰·厄普...
