數(shù)十年來,隱喻研究逐漸進入了繁榮發(fā)展期。在傳統(tǒng)意義上,隱喻研究局限在修辭層和語言層。近二十年來,隱喻研究在認知科學領域得到顯著發(fā)展。Lakoff和Johnson（1980）提出著名的概念隱喻理論,進一步強化了隱喻研究的認知傾向。他們認為人們依靠隱喻感知外部世界,隱喻在人們的思想以及行為方式中扮演著重要角色。概念隱喻具有系統(tǒng)性和連貫性。正是因為這些特性,人們的隱喻語言表述才能呈現(xiàn)出系統(tǒng)和連貫的特征。已有學者諸如Goatly（1997,2000）,馮（2004）對概念隱喻在實現(xiàn)語義連貫方面進行過研究。然而鮮有研究證明其在具體語篇中的連貫功能,尤其以純英語文學語篇為語料進行的研究還不多。因此,本文以經(jīng)典英文小說《德伯家的苔絲》中的概念隱喻為語料,旨在研究概念隱喻的語篇連貫作用。本研究以Pragglejaz Group（2007）提出的隱喻識別方法為依據(jù),從小說文本中共選取1018個概念隱喻,并將其劃分歸類為實體隱喻,方位隱喻和結(jié)構(gòu)隱喻�；诟拍铍[喻理論,研究結(jié)果如下:其一,《德伯家的苔絲》中大量運用了上述三種隱喻,其中實體隱喻出現(xiàn)頻次最高。其二,概念隱喻的系統(tǒng)性能構(gòu)建局部連貫,即源域和目標域...
