　　本文借助弗洛伊德的精神分析理論,探究霍桑《紅字》中人性與神性的激烈沖突�！都t字》是美國文學(xué)史的一座豐碑,極富想象力,對人性進(jìn)行了深入的探討。從小說人物身上,可以看到驅(qū)使人類行善作惡的種種沖動(dòng)。在本文中,這些或好或壞的沖動(dòng)即人性。從這個(gè)意義上來說,它接近于弗洛伊德所說的本我。與人性相對的是神性。在本文中,神性是指清教在其民眾心中灌輸?shù)淖诮绦叛龊偷赖掠^念。它決定了小說人物對正邪善惡的道德判斷,并深刻影響其思想與行為。從這個(gè)意義上來說,神性即弗洛伊德稱所指的超我。本文運(yùn)用弗洛伊德人格結(jié)構(gòu)理論,分析《紅字》中本我與超我的激烈沖突以及人性與神性的斗爭,更能體現(xiàn)人物復(fù)雜的心理活動(dòng)。此外,本文還運(yùn)用了弗洛伊德的升華理論。在《紅字》中,海斯特的本我升華為對真愛、美和自由的崇高追求;丁梅斯戴爾深受超我或神性的桎梏,淪為神性的犧牲品;齊靈沃斯最后給予珠兒寬容與遺產(chǎn),擺脫神性束縛,回歸人性;珠兒是生于清教社會(huì)但不受其教義的浸染,某種程度上,正是本我和人性的現(xiàn)實(shí)象征。結(jié)構(gòu)上,本文分為五個(gè)部分。前兩部分是導(dǎo)論和文獻(xiàn)綜述。第三部分討論了弗洛伊德的人格結(jié)構(gòu)理論和升華理論及其在本文中的運(yùn)用。第四部分分析小說中四個(gè)主要...
