【摘要】：歐茨的長篇小說《奇境》講述了以杰西為代表的美國男性在二戰(zhàn)前后近40年間的傳奇人生,杰西身份的多次轉(zhuǎn)換體現(xiàn)了男性氣質(zhì)的多元性和社會實踐性。小說通過敘述男性在征服"他者"的同時紛紛陷入困境或自我毀滅的深淵,揭示了父權(quán)制社會男性角色的局限性。故事中女性的反抗昭示著支配性男性氣質(zhì)面臨的危機(jī)與挑戰(zhàn),隱含了歐茨對新的社會歷史文化背景下理想男性氣質(zhì)建構(gòu)的期待。
[Abstract]:Oates' novel Wonderland tells the legendary life of American men, represented by Jesse, during the last 40 years before and after World War II. The many changes of Jesse's identity reflect the pluralism and social practicality of masculinity. The novel reveals the limitations of male roles in patriarchal society by recounting that men have fallen into a dilemma or an abyss of self-destruction while conquering the other. The female resistance in the story shows the crisis and challenge faced by the dominant masculine temperament, and implies Oates' expectation for the construction of ideal masculine temperament under the new social, historical and cultural background.
