【摘要】：19世紀(jì)的英國(guó)社會(huì)受到達(dá)爾文進(jìn)化論的全面洗禮,但反對(duì)與質(zhì)疑的聲浪也從未停歇。薩繆爾·巴特勒對(duì)達(dá)爾文主義的文化反思兼具科學(xué)思辨性與藝術(shù)審美性。在一系列生物學(xué)著作中,巴特勒提出了一種"遺傳-記憶"理論,用以反駁達(dá)爾文的"自然選擇"理論,"遺傳-記憶"的核心即"生命即是記憶",而他的一系列文學(xué)創(chuàng)作則將這些科學(xué)構(gòu)想融入詩性語言。在自傳性質(zhì)的代表作《眾生之路》中,巴特勒基于自己構(gòu)建的"生命即是記憶"觀,對(duì)自然選擇及由其支撐的進(jìn)步論的批判達(dá)到頂峰。這部作品融合了生物記憶機(jī)制與詩性回憶機(jī)制,呈現(xiàn)出對(duì)于19世紀(jì)盛行的進(jìn)化論的深度反思。
[Abstract]:British society in the 19th century was christened by Darwinian evolution, but the waves of opposition and doubt never ceased. Samuel Butler's cultural reflection on Darwinism is both scientific and artistic aesthetic. In a series of biological works, Butler proposed a "genetic-memory" theory to refute Darwin's "natural selection" theory, the core of which is "life is memory." His series of literary works incorporate these scientific ideas into poetic language. Butler's criticism of natural selection and the theory of progress supported by it has reached its peak based on his self-constructed view of "life is memory" in his representative book the Road to all beings of the autobiographical nature. This work combines biological memory mechanism with poetic memory mechanism and presents a deep reflection on the evolution theory prevailing in the 19th century.
