中美20世紀小說中“白癡敘述者”的比較研究

【摘要】：關(guān)于敘述者的討論是敘事學(xué)的一個重要的層面,在中美20世紀的小說中,許多作者選擇智力低下的人作為敘述者講述故事,這類特殊的敘事者呈現(xiàn)出某種相似性,為作品和讀者帶來新奇的感受和獨特的審美韻味。本文即從“白癡敘述者”出發(fā),探討這類人物和作品的特殊性,從而審視現(xiàn)代社會與非理性之間的關(guān)系,對人類認識和處理自我與他者之間的關(guān)系提供新的視角和解決方案。首先,對“白癡敘述者”進行概念的界定,在分別對“白癡”和“敘述者”進行文學(xué)判斷的基礎(chǔ)上,總結(jié)出“白癡敘述者”應(yīng)為智力明顯低于故事中的其他人物,或由于遵循自我的價值觀念而被人稱為傻子,以第一人稱“我”來敘述故事的現(xiàn)身型敘述者,他既是故事的參與者,同時也是敘述行為的發(fā)出者。由此出發(fā),第二章從故事層面與話語層面對“白癡敘述者”的特征進行概括。作為人物,他們或是即將沒落的大家族后代,或是平凡的勞動人民,通常被感性支配,缺乏理性。他們都參與到故事中,與故事中的其他人物產(chǎn)生各種密切聯(lián)系。作為“敘述者”,在敘述技巧上表現(xiàn)為敘述時間的混亂性,以單一的有限視角和全知視角相結(jié)合的敘述狀態(tài),偶爾會有作者的聲音通過敘述者傳達出來,造成一種裂縫美。第三章著重對“白癡敘述者”為作品帶來的審美效果進行探討。作品本身由于敘述者的特性呈現(xiàn)出原始性和后現(xiàn)代性兩種特點,展現(xiàn)了這個時代的特征。從作者創(chuàng)作意圖出發(fā),這類敘述者的選擇使作品表現(xiàn)內(nèi)容時更具有真實感,同時生成一種特殊的反諷效果。最后從社會與個人的關(guān)系和讀者接受的角度對這類作品帶來的新視角和新的閱讀體驗進行論證。通過以上論述可以看出白癡敘述者在敘述時提供了一種陌生化的形態(tài),給予讀者重新審視社會審視自我與他者關(guān)系的刺激,有利于在科學(xué)不斷發(fā)展的時代尋找生命的本真與內(nèi)涵。
[Abstract]:The discussion about narrator is an important aspect of narratology. In the 20th century novels between China and the United States, many writers choose the mentally retarded person as the narrator to tell the story, and this kind of special narrator shows some similarity. Bring novel feelings and unique aesthetic appeal to the works and readers. This paper discusses the particularity of this kind of characters and works from the perspective of "idiotic narrator", so as to examine the relationship between modern society and irrationality, and to provide a new perspective and solution for human beings to understand and deal with the relationship between themselves and others. First of all, the concept of "idiotic narrator" is defined, and on the basis of literary judgment on "idiocy" and "narrator", it is concluded that "idiotic narrator" should be obviously less intelligent than the other characters in the story. Or he is called a fool because of following the values of self. He is not only the participant of the story, but also the issuer of the narrative behavior in the first person "I" to tell the story. The second chapter generalizes the characteristics of idiotic narrator from story level and discourse level. As characters, they are often controlled by sensibility and lack of reason. They are all involved in the story and have all sorts of close connections with the rest of the story. As a narrator, the narrative technique is characterized by the confusion of narrative time, the narrative state of combining a single limited angle of view with an all-knowing perspective, and occasionally the author's voice is conveyed through the narrator, resulting in a kind of crack beauty. The third chapter focuses on the aesthetic effect of idiotic narrator. The works show the characteristics of this era because of the characteristics of the narrator and the postmodernity. Based on the author's creative intention, the choice of this kind of narrator makes the content of the work more realistic and produces a special ironic effect at the same time. Finally, from the perspective of the relationship between society and individual and readers' acceptance, this paper demonstrates the new visual angle and new reading experience brought about by this kind of works. Through the above discussion, we can see that the idiotic narrator provides a kind of defamiliarization form in the narration, which gives the reader the stimulus to re-examine the relationship between himself and the other. It is beneficial to seek the essence and connotation of life in the age of continuous development of science.
