【摘要】：A.S.拜厄特是一名關(guān)注“歷史”和“觀念”的作家,英國(guó)風(fēng)云跌宕的六十年代和關(guān)于自由的爭(zhēng)論無(wú)疑是她關(guān)注的焦點(diǎn)。“弗萊德里卡四部曲”中的后兩部小說(shuō)《巴別塔》和《吹口哨的女人》以六十年代為背景,從不同層面和角度涉及自由問(wèn)題,體現(xiàn)了作者對(duì)文化自由主義和六十年代各種反文化運(yùn)動(dòng)等問(wèn)題的思考。本文通過(guò)文本細(xì)讀,結(jié)合歷史文化語(yǔ)境,從宗教信仰、審查制度、性解放三方面探析兩部小說(shuō)中的自由主題以及作者對(duì)自由問(wèn)題的態(tài)度。論文共分為六個(gè)部分。引言部分簡(jiǎn)單介紹拜厄特和她的作品簡(jiǎn)介,以及國(guó)內(nèi)外關(guān)于《巴別塔》和《吹口哨的女人》的研究狀況。第一章介紹“動(dòng)蕩的六十年代”以及在此背景下的文化自由主義思潮,揭示自由意識(shí)產(chǎn)生的原因及其在文化層面的體現(xiàn)。第二章闡釋宗教自由的問(wèn)題,并指出宗教寬容與多樣性引發(fā)了信仰危機(jī)與悲劇。第三章回顧英國(guó)審查制度的歷史,一方面,《亂語(yǔ)塔》中的“淫穢刊物”案體現(xiàn)了六十年代審查制度的寬松化;另一方面,本章結(jié)合拜厄特本人關(guān)于出版自由的理念,揭示審查制度的必要性。第四章從女性婚戀和男同性戀兩方面探討六十年代的性自由,揭示“縱欲”過(guò)后的問(wèn)題。英國(guó)六十年代無(wú)疑是一個(gè)過(guò)分自由的年代,但自由不等于縱欲,自由需要加以限制,這也是拜厄特本人一直倡導(dǎo)的“自由有度”。
[Abstract]:A.S. Byatt is a writer who focuses on history and ideas, and the tumultuous 1960s and the debate about freedom are undoubtedly the focus of her attention. The last two novels, the Babel Tower and the whistling woman, in the Fladrika Quartet, are set in the 1960s and involve the issue of freedom from different levels and angles. It reflects the author's thoughts on cultural liberalism and various anti-cultural movements in the 1960 s. Through careful reading of the text, combining with the historical and cultural context, this paper explores the freedom theme in the two novels and the author's attitude to freedom from three aspects: religious belief, censorship system and sexual liberation. The thesis is divided into six parts. The introduction briefly introduces Byatt and her works, as well as the domestic and foreign research on Babel and whistling woman. The first chapter introduces the "turbulent sixties" and the cultural liberalism under this background, and reveals the reasons for the emergence of freedom consciousness and its embodiment in the cultural level. The second chapter explains the problem of religious freedom, and points out that religious tolerance and diversity lead to crisis of belief and tragedy. The third chapter reviews the history of British censorship system. On the one hand, the obscene publication case in disorderly language Tower reflects the leniency of censorship in the 1960s; on the other hand, this chapter combines Byatt's own ideas on the freedom of the press. Reveal the necessity of censorship. The fourth chapter discusses the sexual freedom in 1960's from the aspects of female marriage and gay man, and reveals the problems after "indulgence". The 1960s was undoubtedly an age of excessive freedom, but freedom was not equal to laissez-faire, and freedom needed to be restricted, which was the "freedom degree" advocated by Byatt himself.
