【摘要】：作為最早一批新教來華傳教士群體的代表人物之一,米憐的大部分傳教士生涯是在遠離中國內(nèi)地的東南亞地區(qū)度過的。而米憐的傳教士生涯,并不僅僅以其實際傳教引人注目,其在新教區(qū)的開拓及教務(wù)管理、位于馬六甲的英華書院的開辦、《圣經(jīng)》中譯等方面的貢獻同樣突出。此外,米憐還是一位勤奮而多產(chǎn)的著述家,其中尤以他先后主持過的《印中搜聞》《察世俗每月統(tǒng)計傳》等英、中文期刊,以及他所撰寫的《張遠兩友相論》等中文文本影響久遠。米憐在其著述中,亦多次提及l(fā)iterature一詞來描述西方語境和中文語境中的某些對象。米憐使用literature一詞的經(jīng)驗,無疑是考察此一時期新教來華傳教士使用literature實際使用境況的重要個案之一。
[Abstract]:As a representative of one of the first Protestant Missionary groups, most of the missionaries Milne career was spent in the mainland Chinese away from Southeast Asia.
