論標記視角下的風格傳遞-The Great Gatsby兩種譯本個案研究

文學作品中的風格翻譯在翻譯界一直備受關注,因為其是翻譯研究中最復雜而敏感的問題之一。關于風格問題,中西翻譯家一直以來爭論的焦點是風格的可譯性以及如果可譯怎樣傳遞原文的風格。很多翻譯家都在其理論中都提到了風格的傳遞問題,比如泰特勒認為“譯文的風格和筆調應與原文相同”,劉重德提出了“信、達、切”,其中的“切”特指風格的等值,證明了風格翻譯的必要性和重要性,因此對風格翻譯的研究無論在理論上還是在實踐上都具有特別重要的意義。通過考察國內外學者在這方面的研究,不難發(fā)現大多數學者的觀點是風格翻譯雖難但卻是可譯的,甚至有學者認為它非譯不可,并且現在風格對等也被普遍看做是文學翻譯的最高標準。本文作者持一種辯證的觀點,認為不同語言和文化之間的巨大差異給風格的絕對對等造成了極大困難,換言之,風格只能在某種程度上達到對等,而譯者只能最大程度地傳遞原文風格。 語言是風格的載體,風格賦形于語言。風格再抽象也是通過語言符號的組合排列表現出來的,所以通過識別風格的語言標記就能識別風格。除了傳達語言信息,風格還能表現出文學作品潛在的思想感情,作家的個人氣質及其作品的審美傾價值。也就是說風格的內涵主要由語言和文學這兩個...
