本文旨在描寫(xiě)并解釋中美新聞個(gè)人評(píng)論語(yǔ)篇中情態(tài)使用方面所體現(xiàn)出的微觀差異,通過(guò)對(duì)這些微觀差異的分析,總結(jié)地道的情態(tài)使用方式以期達(dá)到為國(guó)內(nèi)基礎(chǔ)教育階段以情態(tài)動(dòng)詞為代表的英語(yǔ)情態(tài)表達(dá)形式的教學(xué)提供新思路的目的。本研究的理論基礎(chǔ)是功能語(yǔ)法對(duì)情態(tài)表達(dá)類(lèi)型、取向和情態(tài)值的相關(guān)研究以及文化影響語(yǔ)言運(yùn)用的理論。 針對(duì)英語(yǔ)中情態(tài)的使用,國(guó)內(nèi)外學(xué)者均做了大量研究。早期Palme(1979)在其著作《情態(tài)和英語(yǔ)情態(tài)助動(dòng)詞》中就對(duì)英語(yǔ)情態(tài)系統(tǒng)和情態(tài)動(dòng)詞做了相對(duì)全面的分析。情態(tài)研究在結(jié)合了具體語(yǔ)域后,研究焦點(diǎn)從對(duì)情態(tài)系統(tǒng)具體分類(lèi)的爭(zhēng)論轉(zhuǎn)而側(cè)重于揭示情態(tài)使用所體現(xiàn)出的人際交往意義。功能語(yǔ)法尤其如此,韓禮德(1994)將情態(tài)系統(tǒng)列為實(shí)現(xiàn)人際意義的主要形式,指出情態(tài)涉及“說(shuō)話(huà)者對(duì)其話(huà)語(yǔ)內(nèi)容中所包含可能性或義務(wù)性的判斷”,對(duì)情態(tài)的描寫(xiě)更具系統(tǒng)性。 隨著語(yǔ)料庫(kù)語(yǔ)言學(xué)的進(jìn)步,針對(duì)特定類(lèi)型語(yǔ)篇的情態(tài)使用研究得到了突飛猛進(jìn)的發(fā)展,所涉及的語(yǔ)篇也涵蓋了醫(yī)學(xué)、法律、廣告、學(xué)術(shù)以及政治等等。其中,在國(guó)外Bybee(1984)和Vihla(1999)分別對(duì)幼兒語(yǔ)言和醫(yī)療語(yǔ)篇中的情態(tài)使用做了研究。在國(guó)內(nèi)楊信彰(2006)研究了法律和學(xué)術(shù)...
