二十世紀(jì)的中國通過引進國外先進文化經(jīng)歷了前所未有的文化大交流和復(fù)蘇,其中翻譯的作用舉足輕重。隨著改革開放以來中國世界影響力的顯著提升,世界各國日益關(guān)注并加強與中國的交流。由于政治活動是我國社會生活的重要方面,政治文獻自然吸引了國際社會的關(guān)注并成為最直接最權(quán)威的信息來源。政治文獻準(zhǔn)確及時的翻譯,有利于世界更好得了解中國,從而提升我國的國際地位。在翻譯學(xué)者們的努力下,政治文獻翻譯的研究已取得一定成果,其中最為顯著的為翻譯家程鎮(zhèn)球提出的“政治文章的翻譯要講政治”之原則。然而,對其具體的翻譯原則和策略的研究結(jié)果仍不足以指導(dǎo)政治文獻翻譯的實踐。因此,本文通過詳細(xì)介紹功能翻譯理論的產(chǎn)生、發(fā)展過程、主要代表人物及其理論貢獻,以及該理論在翻譯實踐活動中的應(yīng)用；分析政治文獻的創(chuàng)作過程、內(nèi)容和功能；著重以2010年政府工作報告及中央編譯局的英譯本為個案進行深入分析,探究功能翻譯理論對政治文獻翻譯的指導(dǎo)作用,并歸納具體的翻譯原則及策略。通過將功能翻譯理論提出的翻譯原則應(yīng)用于政論文的翻譯實踐,本文提出四大政論文翻譯的原則：忠實、準(zhǔn)確、讀者為中心、意義優(yōu)于形式等。通過分析政府工作報告中詞匯、句子、修辭、文化等層...
