人們生活的方方面面都可由詞匯反映出來,因而詞匯成了語言研究者探討的永久話題之一。作為詞匯的一部分,近年出現(xiàn)的英語"-gate"詞與漢語“-門”詞尤為引人注目。有相當一部分研究者對它們進行了較為權(quán)威、具體的分析。但這些大多基于漢語文化,對漢語中“-門”詞綴的來源、意義與作用進行研究,研究范圍比較狹隘,不夠全面。因此本文主要以英語"-gate"詞為主、漢語“-門”詞為輔,從認知語言學(xué)的角度,對它們采用了定量與定性分析,旨在揭示這些詞的生成機制及認知動因。英語中,gate作為后綴并不是偶然,它的形成與演變是社會變革的產(chǎn)物。本文認為,gate本身是一個具有多個義項的多義詞,這些義項之間互相聯(lián)系,形成一個蘊含著認知機制的衍生系統(tǒng)。根據(jù)認知語言學(xué),一詞多義被看作是由單一詞項表征的包含多項相關(guān)意義的語義網(wǎng)絡(luò)。中心義項與邊緣義項通過隱喻、轉(zhuǎn)喻機制,形成意義鏈。本文中g(shù)ate的本義為“建筑物的出入口”,在"-gate"詞中則意為“比較重大的新聞事件或丑聞事件”。中心義項與這一邊緣義項的鏈接過程存在語法化現(xiàn)象。英語‘’-gate"詞與漢語“-門”詞作為一類新詞,它們的新義目前相對穩(wěn)定,但并不是一成不變的。...
