以網(wǎng)絡(luò)為中介的民族志對跨文化交際能力影響的實證研究

【摘要】:得益于溝通科技的進步,培養(yǎng)跨文化交際能力的手段也在不斷變化。其中一種新手段就是將民族志方法與網(wǎng)絡(luò)結(jié)合作為一種培養(yǎng)跨文化交際能力的方法,本文將這種方法稱作以網(wǎng)絡(luò)為中介的民族志。盡管這種方法呈現(xiàn)出了光明的前景,但它對于培養(yǎng)跨文化能力的影響以及它的可實施性尚不明確。因此,本研究旨在通過實證研究來探索這種途徑對培養(yǎng)跨文化交際能力的具體影響以及它是否可行。這項研究采用質(zhì)性研究的框架和方法。首先由十組參與者(每組包括一名中國學(xué)生,一名外國學(xué)生)完成一個以網(wǎng)絡(luò)為中介的的民族志項目,然后筆者搜集其中中國參與者對交流過程的反思日志和民族志報告,對他們進行深入訪談并通過調(diào)查了解他們對該項目的看法,將這些作為本研究的主要數(shù)據(jù)。結(jié)合Byram,ChenStarosta,以及Bennett的跨文化能力模型,筆者運用文本分析方法分析了以上數(shù)據(jù),發(fā)現(xiàn)以網(wǎng)絡(luò)為中介的民族志在認(rèn)知、情感方面對于參與者跨文化能力的提高有積極的影響,甚至能激發(fā)參與者對于自已文化的批判性意識。而它作為一種培養(yǎng)跨文化交際能力的手段的可行性主要通過它的有效性和實際可操作性來證明。盡管參與者在此過程中有遇到語言障礙和時間差等挑戰(zhàn),但研究結(jié)果表明以網(wǎng)絡(luò)為中介的民族志是一種有效的、可實施的跨文化交際能力培養(yǎng)手段。本研究的理論意義在于為那些對民族志方法和網(wǎng)絡(luò)跨文化交際感興趣的跨文化界學(xué)者提供了研究的新思路,將網(wǎng)絡(luò)跨文化交際和跨文化交際能力培養(yǎng)相結(jié)合;此外,實踐方面,本研究表明了以網(wǎng)絡(luò)為中介的民族志可以作為一種培養(yǎng)跨文化交際能力的有效途徑。筆者希望該研究能夠激發(fā)更多的學(xué)者探討以網(wǎng)絡(luò)為中介的民族志在其他領(lǐng)域的應(yīng)用。
[Abstract]:Thanks to the progress of communication technology, the means of cultivating intercultural communicative competence are also constantly changing. One of the new means is to combine ethnography method with network as a method to cultivate intercultural communicative competence. This method is called ethnography mediated by network. Although this method has a bright prospect, its influence on the cultivation of cross-cultural ability and its enforceability are not clear. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore the specific impact of this approach on the cultivation of intercultural communicative competence and its feasibility through empirical research. This study adopts the framework and method of qualitative research. First, ten groups of participants (including one Chinese student and one foreign student) completed an ethnographic project mediated by the Internet, and then the author collected the reflection log and ethnographic report of the Chinese participants on the communication process, conducted in-depth interviews with them and learned their views on the project through investigation, taking these as the main data of this study. Combined with the cross-cultural ability model of Byram,ChenStarosta, and Bennett, the author uses the text analysis method to analyze the above data, and finds that the ethnography mediated by the network has a positive influence on the improvement of participants' cross-cultural ability in terms of cognition and emotion, and even stimulates the participants' critical awareness of their own culture. Its feasibility as a means of cultivating intercultural communicative competence is mainly proved by its effectiveness and practical maneuverability. Although participants encounter challenges such as language barriers and time differences in this process, the results show that the ethnography mediated by the network is an effective and feasible means to cultivate intercultural communicative competence. The theoretical significance of this study lies in providing new ideas for intercultural scholars who are interested in ethnographic methods and network intercultural communication, combining network intercultural communication with the cultivation of intercultural communicative competence. In addition, in practice, this study shows that ethnography mediated by the network can be used as an effective way to cultivate intercultural communicative competence. The author hopes that this study can stimulate more scholars to explore the application of ethnography mediated by the network in other fields.
