“語言的精確性是良好交際傳統(tǒng)的基礎(chǔ)”——亞里士多德人們對于語言精確性的研究由來已久。語言的精確性被視為是語言流暢性、生動(dòng)性的基礎(chǔ)。然而語言的精確和模糊之間的界限卻一直未能界定清楚。事實(shí)上,模糊性是語言的基本特性之一。對于語言模糊性的研究涉及很多領(lǐng)域,比如：日常會(huì)話、公眾演講、政治會(huì)議、商業(yè)往來、廣告、文學(xué)等。在外交往來中語言的模糊性也同樣扮演著重要的角色。論文中對于語用模糊的定義為：在語言交流中,說話者為了達(dá)到特定的交際目的,在有能力清晰表意的情況下有意識(shí)的選用了委婉、含糊、間接說法來表達(dá)同樣的意思。因此,這種被說話者用作交際策略的語言現(xiàn)象就叫做語用模糊。由此形成的語言現(xiàn)象以及在這種情況下使用的交際策略被稱為語用含糊。總的說來,外交語言是一種正式的語言,具有說服性、保留性以及謹(jǐn)慎性。同時(shí),外交語言需要滿足政治化、概括性、靈活和簡潔等要求。外交語言通常用于發(fā)表公共講話,處理敏感的政治問題并緩和緊張的外交氣氛。模糊語言可以極大的滿足這些要求。因此,外交模糊語的使用,尤其是在英語國家外交領(lǐng)域的應(yīng)用引起了筆者的興趣,最終擬成為論文的題目。本文采用的理論框架是新提出的語用模式：關(guān)聯(lián)——順應(yīng)模式,...
