【摘要】：委婉語是一種語言文化現(xiàn)象。不僅漢語有委婉語，英語也有委婉語。本文第一部分概括了漢英委婉語研究的歷史和現(xiàn)狀。本文第二部分定義了什么是委婉語和什么是禁忌語。這一部分指出了委婉語起源于禁忌語，但是委婉語又不同于禁忌語：首先，它們是兩種不同的語言現(xiàn)象，，具有不同的性質(zhì)和含義；其次，禁忌語和委婉語的社會作用不同。委婉語主要是交際過程中為了使聽者更能接受，使交際更加順利的進行而采取的一種手段。本文第三部分從委婉語的語用功能方面對比了英漢委婉語。委婉語的語用功能主要有避諱功能、禮貌功能和掩飾功能。本文第四部分分析了委婉語的使用與語用原則的關系：它的使用違背了合作原則，一定程度上遵守了禮貌原則，對合作原則的違背也是為了遵循禮貌原則。但是，當禮貌原則和自我保護原則沖突時，禮貌原則服從自我保護原則。委婉語的使用與其所賴以生存的文化密切相關，本文第五部分論述了委婉語所折射出的文化內(nèi)涵。它折射出中西不同的宗教信仰、不同的等級觀念及不同的傳統(tǒng)和倫理。
[Abstract]:Euphemism is a linguistic and cultural phenomenon, not only in Chinese but also in euphemism. There are also euphemisms in English. The first part of this paper summarizes the history and present situation of euphemism in Chinese and English. The second part defines what is euphemism and what is taboo. This part points out that euphemism originates from taboo. . But euphemism is different from taboos: first, they are two different linguistic phenomena with different characteristics and meanings; Secondly, taboos and euphemisms have different social functions. Euphemism is mainly used in communication to make listeners more receptive. The third part of this paper compares English and Chinese euphemisms from the pragmatic functions of euphemisms. The pragmatic functions of euphemisms are mainly taboo. Part 4th analyzes the relationship between the use of euphemism and pragmatic principles: its use violates the principle of cooperation and to some extent adheres to the principle of politeness. The violation of the principle of cooperation is also intended to follow the principle of politeness. However, when the principle of politeness and the principle of self-protection conflict. The use of euphemism is closely related to the culture on which it depends. Part 5th discusses the cultural connotation reflected by euphemism. It reflects the different religious beliefs between China and the West. Different hierarchies and traditions and ethics.
