認(rèn)知視角下英漢語(yǔ)顏色詞“黑”、“白”的隱喻對(duì)比研究

【摘要】:隱喻研究引起了眾多語(yǔ)言學(xué)家的密切關(guān)注。傳統(tǒng)的語(yǔ)言學(xué)家將隱喻看作是語(yǔ)言形式上的修辭,是語(yǔ)言裝飾的手段,因而只是修辭學(xué)、文學(xué)和文體學(xué)研究的對(duì)象。近期的認(rèn)知語(yǔ)言學(xué)家和心理學(xué)家的研究表明隱喻是人們對(duì)抽象概念認(rèn)識(shí)和表達(dá)的強(qiáng)有力工具,是一種基于身體體驗(yàn)的認(rèn)知機(jī)制,普遍存在于人們的語(yǔ)言和生活中。 顏色是人們對(duì)客觀世界的一種感知,在人類語(yǔ)言中存在著大量記錄顏色的符號(hào)—顏色詞。這些顏色詞在語(yǔ)言中廣泛地被使用,從而具有豐富的隱喻意義。但是與空間隱喻、時(shí)間隱喻、情感隱喻等隱喻相比,顏色隱喻的關(guān)注度并非很高。作為一種重要的隱喻,顏色詞隱喻是指以顏色域?yàn)槭荚从颍瑢㈩伾虻囊庀髨D式映射到非顏色的、抽象域上,使人們可以通過(guò)顏色概念來(lái)理解、思考、和談?wù)摮橄蟮膹?fù)雜的概念。 本文以概念隱喻理論為依據(jù),,以英漢語(yǔ)中顏色詞“黑色”和“白色”為例,對(duì)其隱喻現(xiàn)象進(jìn)行比較研究,旨在找出導(dǎo)致它們隱喻意義的相似性和差異性的原因。本文的英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)料主要選自于LOB,漢語(yǔ)語(yǔ)料主要選自于LCMC,這兩種語(yǔ)料包含了多種題材,同時(shí)兩個(gè)語(yǔ)料相對(duì)應(yīng),便于進(jìn)行英語(yǔ)和漢語(yǔ)的對(duì)比研究。在進(jìn)行語(yǔ)料分析時(shí),借助于Antconc中的concordance(語(yǔ)匯索引)的功能,可以查看到顏色詞的語(yǔ)境。就顏色詞的隱喻意義而言:一方面,基于人類某些共同的生理基礎(chǔ)和認(rèn)知特征,顏色詞在不同的民族中有著共同的或相似的隱喻意義;另一方面,由于各個(gè)國(guó)家的文化是不同的,傳統(tǒng)習(xí)慣、宗教信仰、歷史背景以及個(gè)人認(rèn)識(shí)都會(huì)導(dǎo)致對(duì)事物產(chǎn)生不同的認(rèn)識(shí),因此各民族在使用顏色詞去描繪某一現(xiàn)象時(shí)會(huì)有各自的傾向,產(chǎn)生不同的認(rèn)知概念,顏色詞的隱喻意義也就有了差異。 全文共分為五個(gè)部分。第一部分簡(jiǎn)要介紹研究主題,提出本研究的意義,研究的目標(biāo)以及文章的結(jié)構(gòu)。第二部分回顧了國(guó)內(nèi)外主要的傳統(tǒng)隱喻理論和當(dāng)代認(rèn)知隱喻理論,尤其闡述了本文的理論基礎(chǔ):Lakoff and Johnson的概念隱喻理論。第三部分介紹本研究的研究方法,提出了研究問(wèn)題,指出語(yǔ)料收集的途徑,進(jìn)行具體數(shù)據(jù)分析的方法和步驟。第四部分是文章的主體部分。通過(guò)分析中英文兩個(gè)語(yǔ)料庫(kù)中的語(yǔ)料,找出英漢語(yǔ)中黑色和白色常用的隱喻意義,對(duì)其隱喻意義進(jìn)行分類比較并給出實(shí)例,在數(shù)據(jù)分析的基礎(chǔ)上具體討論英漢語(yǔ)中黑色和白色隱喻意義的相似性和差異性,并從認(rèn)知和文化兩方面討論導(dǎo)致存在這些相似性和差異性的可能原因。第五部分是結(jié)論,總結(jié)本文的研究發(fā)現(xiàn),提出本研究的局限性和未來(lái)研究的努力方向。
[Abstract]:The study of metaphor has attracted the close attention of many linguists. Traditional linguists regard metaphor as a rhetorical figure of speech and a means of language decoration, so it is only rhetoric. Recent studies by cognitive linguists and psychologists show that metaphor is a powerful tool for people to understand and express abstract concepts and is a cognitive mechanism based on physical experience. It is common in people's language and life. Color is a kind of perception of the objective world. There are a lot of color words that record color in human language. These color words are widely used in language. However, compared with space metaphor, time metaphor and emotional metaphor, color metaphor has less attention than other metaphors such as space metaphor, time metaphor and emotional metaphor. As an important metaphor, color metaphor is a kind of important metaphor. Color term metaphor is a complex concept that can be understood, pondered, and talked about by the color concept by mapping the image schema of the color field to the non-color, abstract field. Based on the theory of conceptual metaphor and taking the color words "black" and "white" in English and Chinese as examples, this paper makes a comparative study of their metaphorical phenomena. The purpose of this paper is to find out the reasons for the similarities and differences of their metaphorical meanings. The English corpus and the Chinese corpus are mainly selected from LOB and the Chinese corpus mainly from LCMC. These two kinds of data contain a variety of subjects. At the same time, the two corpora correspond to each other, which is convenient for the contrastive study of English and Chinese. In the process of corpus analysis, the function of concordance (vocabulary index) in Antconc is used. As far as the metaphorical meaning of color words is concerned, on the one hand, they are based on some common physiological basis and cognitive characteristics of human beings. Color words have a common or similar metaphorical meaning in different ethnic groups. On the other hand, because each country's culture is different, the traditional custom, the religious belief, the historical background as well as the personal understanding all can result in the different understanding to the thing. Therefore, different ethnic groups tend to use color words to describe a certain phenomenon, resulting in different cognitive concepts and different metaphorical meanings of color words. The thesis is divided into five parts. The first part briefly introduces the research topic and puts forward the significance of this study. The second part reviews the main domestic and foreign traditional metaphor theory and contemporary cognitive metaphor theory. In particular, the theoretical basis of this paper is the conceptual metaphor theory proposed by the President Lakoff and Johnson. The third part introduces the research methods of this study and puts forward the research problems. The paper points out the ways of data collection, the methods and steps of data analysis. Part 4th is the main part of the article. It analyzes the corpus of both Chinese and English. The metaphorical meanings commonly used in black and white in English and Chinese are found, and their metaphorical meanings are classified and compared with examples. On the basis of data analysis, the similarities and differences of black and white metaphorical meanings in English and Chinese are discussed in detail. The paper also discusses the possible causes of these similarities and differences from cognitive and cultural aspects. Part 5th is the conclusion, summarizes the findings of this study, and puts forward the limitations of this study and the direction of future research.
