在錢鐘書的小說《圍城》中,大量的文化負載詞和詞組為作品增色不少。隨著跨文化交際和全球化的發(fā)展,通過翻譯將中國傳統(tǒng)文化傳播到其他國家顯得日益重要,有助于加強中國與其他國家的交流。文化負載詞在跨文化交際中起著極其至關(guān)重要的作用,因此研究文化負載詞的翻譯有助于譯者更好地翻譯中國文學作品。過去的半個世紀,翻譯理論飛速發(fā)展,翻譯研究者也試圖借助其他相關(guān)理論進行研究。胡庚申教授將達爾文的生物進化論中的“適應／選擇”概念引入翻譯領(lǐng)域,提出了“翻譯適應選擇論”,希望從一個新的角度來研究翻譯,對翻譯實踐發(fā)揮指導作用。根據(jù)胡庚申的觀點,翻譯是翻譯者在翻譯生態(tài)環(huán)境中的適應選擇活動。翻譯環(huán)境指的是原文、源語言和目標語、語言、交際和文化因素以及翻譯的其他要素,還包括作者和讀者。在此理論框架下,翻譯過程就是翻譯者在達爾文進化論的基礎(chǔ)上對翻譯生態(tài)環(huán)境的選擇和適應,從而產(chǎn)生作品的過程。該論文以胡庚申的理論作為工具,從翻譯者適應和選擇的角度來分析原文和譯文中的文化負載詞和詞組,從而探析譯者是如何適應原文的風格,如何適應西方讀者的心理和文化的差異,如何將原文的意思傳達給目標讀者。
