目的論下《寵兒》翻譯策略研究

【摘要】：Beloved是托尼·莫里森享譽(yù)世界的一部著作。目前在中國有兩個(gè)譯本:1990年出版的王友軒的《嬌女》和1996年出版的潘岳、雷格的《寵兒》。目前，從文學(xué)角度對Beloved的研究層出不窮，但是遺憾的是鮮有學(xué)者從翻譯角度對其及兩個(gè)中譯本進(jìn)行研究，從目的論視角對Beloved的研究更是出現(xiàn)空白。所以，為了拓寬Beloved翻譯研究領(lǐng)域，本文在目的論的指導(dǎo)下，，對原作和兩個(gè)中譯本進(jìn)行詳細(xì)比較，以探討兩個(gè)中譯本的翻譯策略。 傳統(tǒng)翻譯理論強(qiáng)調(diào)源文本與目標(biāo)文本的“語言對等”，認(rèn)為源文本與目標(biāo)文本應(yīng)在口頭表達(dá)、文體、結(jié)構(gòu)以及文本功能等方面保持對等。然而，目的論否定將翻譯僅僅局限于源語言與目標(biāo)語言之間的互相轉(zhuǎn)換，它主張把翻譯放在跨文化交際的框架中進(jìn)行考查，為翻譯活動提供了一種新的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)和解釋。目的論打破了傳統(tǒng)翻譯中的兩種翻譯標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的限制，即以源文本為導(dǎo)向的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)和以目標(biāo)文本為導(dǎo)向的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，它主張翻譯應(yīng)由譯文的預(yù)期目的決定。目的論包括三大原則，即目的原則，連貫原則和忠實(shí)原則。由于翻譯活動是由翻譯目的決定的，所以目的原則是目的論的最高原則。該原則旨在解決關(guān)于意譯/直譯、動態(tài)對等/形式對等、好的譯者/盲從的譯者等諸如此類的問題，將譯者從此類問題中解脫出來。連貫原則要求譯文要最大限度地做到語義連貫，使譯文具有可讀性和可接受性，并使讀者理解其意義。忠實(shí)原則要求譯文必須與源文保持一定的關(guān)系。在某種意義上說這類似于其他的翻譯理論中的譯文對源文的忠實(shí)，但是在目的論忠實(shí)原則中，忠實(shí)的程度取決于譯者對源文本的理解和每一次的翻譯目的。對于三大原則在目的論中的地位，忠實(shí)原則從屬于連貫原則，連貫原則和忠實(shí)原則從屬于目的原則。 本文在目的論的理論基礎(chǔ)上采用描述性翻譯學(xué)研究方法和比較翻譯學(xué)研究方法。研究過程包括三個(gè)階段。首先，明確譯文的翻譯目的。其次，對源文本及目標(biāo)文本進(jìn)行比較研究。最后，在目的論原則指導(dǎo)下評價(jià)譯文并研究其翻譯策略。此外，本文還采用了文本分析軟件Antconc對目標(biāo)文本中出現(xiàn)的注釋進(jìn)行定量分析。通過在目的論原則的指導(dǎo)下對源文本與兩個(gè)譯本的對比分析，發(fā)現(xiàn)譯文在語言特點(diǎn)和修辭手法方面與原文非常相似，所以兩個(gè)譯本都保持了源文本的文體特征。然后作者分別從目的原則、連貫原則和忠實(shí)原則對原文和譯文進(jìn)行內(nèi)容層面的比較并探究其翻譯策略。從以翻譯目的為導(dǎo)向的翻譯策略對黑人文化層面進(jìn)行分析，發(fā)現(xiàn)兩個(gè)譯本有相同的翻譯目的即要求譯文體現(xiàn)莫里森對黑人文化的強(qiáng)烈情感和她獨(dú)特的寫作特點(diǎn)。由于翻譯目的決定翻譯策略，所以兩個(gè)譯本的翻譯策略具有相似性。從異化翻譯策略對翻譯合適性進(jìn)行分析，發(fā)現(xiàn)對中國讀者來說兩個(gè)譯本都是可接受的有意義的譯本。例如它們都以注釋的形式提供給讀者原著中的源文化信息。但是潘岳和雷格的譯本更加重視傳遞源文本中所蘊(yùn)涵的隱含意義。從交際翻譯策略對翻譯對等層面進(jìn)行分析可以看出兩個(gè)譯本都達(dá)到了排除交際困難、成功傳遞源文本語言文化信息的效果。但是潘岳和雷格的譯本在語際連貫方面做得更為成功。此譯本在創(chuàng)作出可接受的有意義的譯本的前提下，更加忠實(shí)于源文本的語言結(jié)構(gòu)特點(diǎn)，所以更為中國讀者所接受。
[Abstract]:Beloved is a world-renowned book of Toni Morrison. At present there are two translations in China: Wang Youxuan's" Young Women "published in 1990 and Pan Yue and Reger's" Beloved" published in 1996.
