【摘要】：操縱派領軍人物勒菲弗爾在多元系統(tǒng)理論的啟發(fā)下,采用文化研究模式,把贊助人、社會條件、經(jīng)濟操縱等文學以外諸因素引入翻譯研究。他認為,翻譯不是在真空中進行的,而且單靠語言學是不能解決所有翻譯問題的。翻譯除了受語言因素制約,還受到語言以外社會、文化、政治諸如詩學、贊助、意識形態(tài)等因素操控。翻譯實質(zhì)上就是譯者在主流詩學、贊助、意識形態(tài)的影響下,對原文的暴力操控與改寫。勒菲弗爾的操控理論得到了許多中國翻譯研究者的關注。這個理論可以很好地解釋翻譯中的重譯和誤譯現(xiàn)象,使人們了解到,這些“不忠實的”翻譯其實也是這些操控因素共同作用的結(jié)果。 《狼圖騰》是由學者姜戎據(jù)其親身經(jīng)歷所寫的一本風靡中國的暢銷小說,自2004年出版以來便獲得了廣泛的關注。2008年該書由美國著名漢學家葛浩文教授譯為英文,然而,其譯本自出版以來還未獲得國內(nèi)外的廣泛關注和研究。對于《狼圖騰》這樣“一部深切關注人類土地家園的,以靈魂回應靈魂之書”(雷達,2005：4),無論是其中文版還是英文版都是值得關注和研究的。 本文擬運用勒菲弗爾的操控論,以葛浩文譯本《狼圖騰》作為研究對象,分析隱藏在翻譯背后操控翻譯的各種政治、文化以及社會等操控因素,探討詩學、贊助人、意識形態(tài)等如何操控文本選材和翻譯策略以及翻譯結(jié)果。 在研究方法上,本文采取了理論聯(lián)系實際的方法,綜合分析,探求葛浩文譯《狼圖騰》的多種操控制約因素,分析葛浩文如何運用不同的翻譯策略操控原文本,從而達到其翻譯能夠讓目的語讀者欣然接受。對于葛浩文譯本的評價及其社會影響的介紹,則采取一種描述性的方法,以期待對于葛浩文譯本《狼圖騰》的社會影響做處比較客觀的評價。 本文提出的結(jié)論是要想獲得成功的文化交流,即獲得翻譯的成功,譯本必須將當時的詩學、贊助人和意識形態(tài)納入考慮范圍之內(nèi)。另外,操控論不僅能對《狼圖騰》翻譯這一翻譯活動做出令人信服的解釋,加深我們對《狼圖騰》譯本的認識,而且還能對今后的翻譯實踐提供具體的指導。
[Abstract]:Inspired by the pluralistic system theory, Lefevere, the leading figure of the manipulators, adopts the cultural research model to introduce the factors other than literature, such as patronage, social conditions and economic manipulation, into translation studies. Translation, he argues, does not take place in a vacuum, and linguistics alone cannot solve all translation problems. Translation is not only restricted by linguistic factors, but also controlled by social, cultural and political factors, such as poetics, sponsorship, ideology and so on. Translation, in essence, is the violent manipulation and rewriting of the original text by the translator under the influence of the mainstream poetics, sponsorship and ideology. Lefevere's manipulation theory has attracted the attention of many Chinese translation researchers. This theory can well explain the phenomenon of retranslation and mistranslation in translation, and make people understand that, These "unfaithful" translations are also the result of these manipulative factors. Wolf Totem is a popular novel written by scholar Jiang Rong according to his own experience. Since its publication in 2004, the book has received extensive attention. In 2008, the book was translated into English by the famous American Sinologist Professor Geoffrey. However, its translation has not received extensive attention and research at home and abroad since its publication. For Wolf Totem, a Book of Soul in response to Human Land and Homeland (Radar / 2005: 4), whether in Chinese or in English, is worthy of attention and study. This paper uses Lefevere's manipulation theory, taking the translation of Wolf Totem as the object of study, analyzes the political, cultural and social manipulation factors underlying the manipulation of translation, and probes into poetics and patronage. Ideology and how to manipulate text selection, translation strategies and translation results. In terms of research methods, this paper adopts a theoretical and practical approach, comprehensively analyzes the various manipulation constraints in the translation of Wolf Totem, and analyzes how different translation strategies are used to manipulate the original text. Therefore, its translation can be accepted by the target language readers. For the evaluation of the translation and the introduction of its social impact, a descriptive method is adopted to look forward to an objective evaluation of the social impact of the translation of the wolf totem. The conclusion is that in order to achieve a successful cultural exchange, that is, translation, the translation must take into account the poetics, patronage and ideology of the time. In addition, manipulation theory can not only give a convincing explanation to the translation of the wolf totem, but also provide concrete guidance to the translation practice in the future.
