【摘要】： 根據(jù)奈達博士著名的翻譯理論—功能對等理論，本文對魯迅的小 說集《吶喊》的兩種英文譯本進行了對比研究。 魯迅是我國新文學的奠基人，他所創(chuàng)作的小說集《吶喊》是中國 第一部白話文作品，里面共收錄了短篇小說十四部，在中國現(xiàn)代文學 史上占有極為重要的地位�？梢哉f，《吶喊》是中國文學史上的一座里 程碑。幾乎沒有人不承認魯迅的文體是獨樹一幟的，無論是內(nèi)容還是 形式都帶有強烈的個人特色。魯迅的小說在白話文中占有突出的地位， 實際上它促成了白話文的形成，對后來的作家有著深刻的影響。 論文中所引用的例子選自魯迅的小說集《吶喊》及其兩種英文譯 本：楊憲益及戴乃迭夫婦的Call To Arms和威廉萊爾的Diary Of a Madman and Other Stories。 與傳統(tǒng)的翻譯理論不同，奈達的功能對等理論從另一角度為翻譯 提供了一個衡量的標準。傳統(tǒng)的翻譯理論把翻譯的重點放在語言的表 現(xiàn)形式上，而奈達則認為翻譯的重點應當是讀者對譯文的反應。要達 到理想的翻譯，就是要找到與原文最自然且最切近的對等語。也就是 說譯文的讀者對譯文的反應要等值與原文讀者對原文的反應。 論文正是運用了奈達的這個功能對等理論來評析《吶喊》的兩個 英文譯本。通過對譯本中大量的例子分析，本文作者試圖找出兩種譯 本的譯者在不同的層面上所達到與原文“最自然且最切近的譯文”的 方法。 論文共分為四個章節(jié)。在第一章中，本文著重闡述了奈達的功能 對等理論。首先介紹了奈達對翻譯所下的定義；其次列舉了翻譯中最 基本的三個過程；之后詳細地分析了功能對等理論中的四個主要原則。 第二章簡要介紹了魯迅的生平，以及小說集《吶喊》的主要內(nèi)容 Functional Equlvalence InTranslatlon一0n the TwTwo English wrslons of川口H口門 與語言特色。 第三章是本文的主體部分，從意義、風格與文化二個方面詳盡地 對兩個譯本做了對比分析。其中第一部分是從意義的角度來闡還語義 在翻譯過程中的重要性。翻譯的首要之點就是表達原文的意思。語義 的傳譯應該在翻譯中享有優(yōu)先地位。本文主要論述了兩種不同類型的 意義：一種是指示意義，另一種是聯(lián)想意義。針對不同種類的意義，， 應有不同的翻譯要領(lǐng)及方法。 第二部分是從風格的角度來探討怎樣找到與原文最為對等的譯 文。翻譯原文風格時所要遵循的是一個“動態(tài)的對等”，而不是形式上 的對等。魯迅的風格是獨樹一幟的，因而要在譯文中反應出原作的風 格也是相當困難的。但風格的載體又是具體的，譯者不必一味追求在 形式上與原作完全對等，而只要正確地譯出原語信息所蘊含的意義， 原作的風格自然會融入譯文之中，使譯文讀者達到與原文讀者相同的 感受。魯迅的語言準確精練，修辭運用地恰到好處。本文正是從這兩 個方面來分析魯迅的風格在兩種譯文中的體現(xiàn)。 第三部分主要分析兩種譯文在文化傳遞方而的得失。奈達的功能 對等理論既要求譯文能夠盡可能的再現(xiàn)原義所蘊含的文化信層、，又要 求譯文能夠被其讀者理解并且接受，同時產(chǎn)牛與原文問樣的效果。 最后一章列舉了在兩個譯本中各自出現(xiàn)的一些過譯、誤譯及譯不 足的現(xiàn)象。當然，這只是本文作者的個人見解，僅供大家討論。

Method .









The thesis is divided into four chapters . In Chapter 1 , the function of Nida is discussed in this paper .
