【摘要】：隨著20世紀70年代以來翻譯研究學派和文化學派的出現(xiàn),人們已不再用等值、正誤、好壞、對錯等標準來評判翻譯文本,而是將翻譯文本中出現(xiàn)的差異、謬誤、模棱兩可以及異質的混亂看作是文化意識形態(tài)直接影響特定文學抉擇的寶貴資源。一部譯作所采取的翻譯策略,與該時期的社會歷史文化大背景密切相關,如果忽視了歷史文化的大背景,將翻譯文本置于真空之中,單純的從字面語法來加以評價,將有可能扭曲譯者的原意,對譯本做出錯誤的評價,忽視其對某一歷史時期翻譯文壇所做出的歷史貢獻與功績。 以色列學者埃文·佐哈爾的多元系統(tǒng)理論認為,譯者翻譯策略的選擇與翻譯文學在特定時期內的文學多元系統(tǒng)中的位置有著很大的關系,當翻譯文學在文學多元系統(tǒng)中處于中心地位時,翻譯活動將會作為革新力量引進新的思想和寫作方式。在這種情況下,譯者常常會打破本國文學的規(guī)范,使譯本保持原文的“充分性”。當翻譯文學處于文學多元系統(tǒng)的邊緣地位時,譯者會為外國的文本尋找最佳的現(xiàn)成二級模式,傾向于譯本的“可接受性”。 本文試圖以多元系統(tǒng)理論為框架,通過對翻譯文學歷史的系統(tǒng)的描述,探討了20世紀30年代和21世紀初兩個不同歷史時期中國翻譯文學的地位與翻譯策略的演變關系,證明了前期的翻譯文學在我國文學多元系統(tǒng)中處于中心地位,因此譯者對翻譯策略的選擇以歐化為主;而后一個時期的翻譯文學走入我國文學多元系統(tǒng)的邊緣位置,譯者對翻譯策略的選擇則以歸化為主。 繼而對美國著名作家德萊塞的小說Jennie Gerhardt的兩個中譯本,分別是傅東華1935年和范文美2001年翻譯的《珍妮姑娘》在詞匯、句法、篇章三個方面進行了全面的對比,對在翻譯文學中心地位的影響下的傅東華譯本所采用的歐化翻譯策略以及在翻譯文學邊緣地位的影響下范文美譯本所采用的歸化策略進行了具體的論證分析,從而證實了翻譯文學的不同地位對譯本翻譯策略產(chǎn)生的影響并對傅東華的譯本做出了歷史的客觀的評價。
[Abstract]:With the emergence of translation studies and cultural schools since 1970s, people no longer use the criteria of equivalence, right and wrong, good or bad, right and wrong to judge the translated text, but the differences in the translated text. Fallacy, ambiguity and heterogeneity are regarded as valuable resources for cultural ideology to directly influence a particular literary choice. It is closely related to the social, historical and cultural background of this period. If the historical and cultural background is ignored, the translated text will be placed in a vacuum and evaluated simply from the literal grammar. It is possible to distort the translator's original meaning, make a wrong evaluation of the translation, and ignore the historical contributions and achievements made by the translator to a certain historical period of translation. According to Israeli scholar Evan Zohar's theory of multiple systems, the choice of translator's translation strategy is closely related to the position of translation literature in a given period of time. When translation literature plays a central role in the multi-system of literature, translation activities will introduce new ideas and writing methods as a force of innovation. In this case, translators will often break the norms of their own literature. When the translation literature is in the marginal position of the literary pluralistic system, the translator will look for the best ready-made secondary model for the foreign text and tend to the "acceptability" of the translation. Based on the theory of multiple systems, this paper attempts to systematically describe the history of translation literature. This paper probes into the relationship between the status of Chinese translation literature and translation strategies in two different historical periods: 1930s and 21th century. It is proved that the translation literature in the early stage is at the center of the pluralistic system of Chinese literature, so the translator's choice of translation strategies is mainly Europeanization. In the latter period, the translation literature entered the edge of the pluralistic system of Chinese literature, and the translator's choice of translation strategies was mainly domestication. Then two Chinese versions of the famous American writer Dreiser's novel Jennie Gerhardt are given. Fu Donghua in 1935 and Fan Wenmei in 2001 have made a comprehensive comparison in terms of vocabulary, syntax and text. This paper makes a concrete demonstration and analysis of the Europeanized translation strategy adopted by Fu Donghua's translation under the influence of the centrality of translation literature and the domestication strategy adopted by the American version under the influence of the marginal position of translated literature. It proves the influence of different positions of translation literature on translation strategies and makes a historical and objective evaluation of Fu Donghua's translation.
